The Polymers... whats wrong with the polymers!
Getting a new drive belt put on along with the torsion isolater due to 2 different noises - one cold startup and other the idle clanging from the supercharger. Hmmmmm
Ive had alot of problems in the XKR with polymer breakdown that was initially bought and beat to shreds out in Maryland....
Had to replace alot of Rubbers i say... alot. Both door seals, some of the polymers around the doors... now a belt which I assume is made of polymers.
What could be breaking these down? My XKRS bought new and hasnt seen a drop of rain ever while stored in a garage - polymers are like brand new 3 2.5 yrs later!

As you bought the XKR used, you are dealing with a big gap of questionalbe use and storage. Obviously the southern temps are not kind to anything elastic, and you may be recovering from neglect from that type environment. Improper use of chemicals to clean polymers can do more damage than good as well...
Personally, I think your just dealing with a car that was neglected for the first year of its life, and you are having to invest in the recovery process....
