Jerking steering
Hi everybody. I decided to add my own experience to the forum. Maybe I could help somebody. The solution of my problem was fabulous easy and cheap! I had the problem with my jerking
steering. After visiting all possible websites and checking almost all components I find out that the problem is smal cardan cross on the lower end of steering column. It was totally rusty and it was the reason why turning of steering wheel was so hard... The cost of new cross 12 EUR plus 1 hour of work.

Jerking steering XK, X150
Hi there. Sorry for previous incomplete information. It was the issue on my X150, 2006 XK 4.2 Unfortunately there is no part number on the cardan cross. My mechanic have use catalogue from company dealing with bearings and after taking measurements has ordered the part. I would recommend to do the same if someone discover this failure. I keep the fingers crossed to all members 😁

I don't know Cabrio Bob. Probably you have right. My mechanic just had a look at the steering system an decided to replace what was wrong. He didn't listed in repair manual if the part is available as a single piece or not. Essentiall for me is that it works and maybe I can suggest about locating the jerking problem. If someone decides to change all steering column - your choice ...

Heavy it is, then it’s not !
Hi All,
My 2008 XKR with low miles was sitting in storage for a few months. When I took it for a spin, I noticed the steering was very heavy. Is this a common problem on the x150?
If I drove it about 100 miles with no power steering, would I cause more damage to the steering system? I imagine the pump is what stoped working. Is there anything I can do to try to get the pump working?
I looked in the power steering reservoir and it is full of fluid.
Any other thoughts would be helpful.
Thanks!!
Mike
