Or better yet, bring your own socket with you, and wrap it with electrical tape. Easier, and much softer than the non-marring kits you can buy on amazon. I've got both, so can vouch for this.

You explained that the previous installer used power tools to R&R your wheels. Because you don't know if he buggered your 2-piece lug nuts, before you go to BJ's you should inspect all your lug nuts for any obvious damage, both visually and by touching the corners to feel for any rough edges. If they're all OK, tell the service writer that you will hold them responsible for replacing any damaged lug nuts unless they use the 19mm socket you supply and tighten the nuts by hand to 92 ft. lbs.

I'll be ordering my tires at BJs tomorrow. It seems that BJs is unable to supply me with sensors, but will install the sensors I supply for no charge. The brand I keep seeing is a Siemens Sensor replacement, SE53001 (On Newparts.com) or equivalent part SE52081 (On RockAuto). Brand is VDO which is Continental OE Sensor. It seems Continental bought Siemens in 2007. Gets confusing, but its around $45 each sensor. I'd rather get the sensors installed at the same time of tire purchase. BJs tech told me he has to designate (with his scan tool), each sensor so that the module recognizes them in the car. Hope there are no issues.

Not yet. I’m scheduled for May 21st for the tire installation at BJs and will be bringring the sensors at that time. FYI.. The Costco here needs to order the sensors after the tire installation which can take up to two weeks. Makes no sense to bring the car back and have to dismount and mount all over again. Crazy!

Considering there has been much talk of the manufacturers date of the tire pressure sensor and to avoid buying an old production date....After receiving my 4 VDO/Continental self/learned sensors, (SE52081) I am not sure but wanted to know if what I am looking at is actually the manufacturers date. Under the 315MHz there are various numbers reading the following.: 01/17222/717508968-10 Is it possible that the second series of numbers 17222 might signfiy the manufacturer date? Would it be possible to mean the 172nd day of 2022? This is just a guess and might be meaningless. . Any thoughts?

Sorry I'm late to the party! When I had my wheels refurbished, I had new TPMS sensors installed. Somewhat confused by the variety of available TPMS options, I just wanted to order the correct TPMS sensors (regardless of cost) and to just have everything done right.
I ended up contacting TPMS.com. Apparently for my car (2015 XK) there were two TPMS sensors shown (both 315Mhz). TPMS.com asked that I call my local Jaguar dealer (Chantilly Jaguar) to get the correct part number for my car. I did so with the following results -
Jaguar Part Number - C2P26079
Correct VDO Part - SE52081 (Supplied by TPMS.com)
When I mounted the refurbished wheels (with newly installed TPMS) on the car, the TPMS sensors were re-learned in 10-15 miles of driving. Did I pay more than some of the options others have mentioned? Probably. But everything works as it should.
As part of this process, I did purchase a fairly inexpensive AUTEL TPMS sensor reader for use on my XK and the other non-Jaguar cars in the fleet. In the future, I'll purchase AUTEL TPMS monitors and program them using my AUTEL tool.

UPDATE I had my 4 Michelin Pilot 4S tires installed today at my local BJs along with the new VDO/Continental TPMS sensors (SE52081) I purchased the sensors at Rock Auto and was not charged for their installation. After completion, I took the car for a short ride and literally within 5-10 minutes the tire warning light was off. These sensors are truly plug and play! With regards to the Pilot 4S... taking into consideration it's such a short period of time.... the difference between the original Dunlops that were still on the car from new, the ride is like night and day! Quite and smooth. Just what I like. Hopefully it will be another life time before needing tires for this car. For those members who will be changing all their tires, and don't know the status of the sensors...it certainly pays to install a fresh set of quality sensors, while the tires are apart. One less thing to worry about.

FWIW, I had new Michelin Pilot Sports installed, with new TPMS sensors, at discount tire. They used these sensors…and after multiple tries can not get them to work. After 30 minutes driving…I get “TOMS System Fault”. They refunded me. I went to a pn I;dependent Jag service place, and they use Autel…so I’m going to have them installed. Crossing g my fingers.
