FWIW, I had new Michelin Pilot Sports installed, with new TPMS sensors, at discount tire. They used these sensors…and after multiple tries can not get them to work. After 30 minutes driving…I get “TOMS System Fault”. They refunded me. I went to a pn I;dependent Jag service place, and they use Autel…so I’m going to have them installed. Crossing g my fingers.
Four (now six) searches I did shows those are marketed as "PORSCHE (Audi/VW) SENSORS". All four of my searches also noted they are 433 MHz and I could not find any 315 MHz models of those ones. I don't know WHY a USA market vehicle would have 433 MHz system and require similar sensors. Course maybe just because I couldn't FIND any 315s doesn't mean there aren't any.
I have another thread on my “TPMS System Failure”, but I’ll add a quick update for completeness:
- DT could not get the BHSens sensors to work, and refund did me for them.
- Both dealer & an indeoentedbt want about $2K to install OEM sensors
- DT said if I get my own sensors they will install for me.
- I decided to just get the Jag OEM sensors from LA jag for $130 each.
- whrn I get the OEM sensors in the mail, I’ll have DT install them, and cross my fingers that they automatically set up.
I used an NTB store to replace a faulty sensor. Schrader and VDO sensors would not program. A random one off their shelf did. I've never had any luck buying a sensor for them to install.
