Puddle lights ’08 Portfolio Convertible XKR
I have read a thread where guys have been changing / adding LED Jaguar logo projecting puddle lights in the mirrors or doors.
My car car has the area in the rear view outside mirrors capped with the plastic cover but no lights installed. Nor does the bottom of door have an access.
So can my have these installed easily? I have read the caution about snapping off the retaining tab of the mirror cover.
What about door installation? There is a red light on the inside at the bottom corner when you open door but nothing as for a puddle / ground lighting entering car.

Can't put a projector under the mirror, it won't look right and will splay too far. Under the door interior panel near the factory light is the best spot. Lots of room in there, and it's super easy to connect to the existing wires for the other lamp. Drill one hole through the plastic with the included hole saw and you will never see the housing again, except for the light it produces.
There are other ones made for different models that snap in using the existing lamp area, but those are angled and make the Logo skewed and weird looking.

No-Drill Puddle Lights
Although the thread link below is for my 2013 XJ, I did the exact same thing on my 2009 XKR. No drilling into the door is necessary as they replace the OEM puddle lights and use the existing wiring. They're not an exact fit but, as detailed in that thread, with a little modification they will fit and work fine. A big bang for the buck!
The top photo is from my XJ. The bottom photo is from the vendor's site.

1st in a Jaguar Concours. So I don’t know if I want to remove
the factor ‘red’ door light. I may just do what Cee Jay used but I really like the Growler too.
CeeJays mod can be covered with elec tape to hide projection at show. I still have a
precut tinting kit sitting in garage because of point deductions. I do the hell out of the car.
Thanks again for the info. Decision decision.
