Quest for 425 HP

The NA 5.0L makes 370HP. I suspect that another 55HP is possible without forced induction, but street driveability will suffer since you'll have to increase RPMs and sacrifice low-end torque to get there. A tune by itself isn't enough.
Just because it's possible doesn't mean that it makes sense.
P.S. I stand corrected, viper1996 is right. See below. The 5.0L NA makes 385HP, not 370. My 2013 XJ 5.0LSC makes 470HP. I still doubt that the NA 5.0L can make another 40HP with only a pulley and tune.

Youve got cam phasing and variable length runners within your inlet manifold so you'll get the best off both worlds in regards to long runners / lower duration camshaft profile on low rpm to benefit torque and short runners / high duration camshaft on high rpm to benefit horsepower.
You'll definitely need a tune and the only way I can see you getting up near the 440/450hp mark is with some decent headers .
Nevertheless in the mean time id be going x-pipe , higher flowing cats and proper tune but as stated before to get the most benefit definitely headers ...contact Stuart at velocity I'm pretty sure he was working or might even have headers for 5l f types (same exhaust ports s/c & n/a

Maybe more space in the X150 but doubtful VAP are looking into it, again minimal if any increase in power/torque and likely too little demand to be cost effective.

In other words, it's just plain dumb to try to make more power from an N/A because it'll be more expensive, less durable and make a mess of things compared to getting an /R. Have you tried to locate even STOCK parts for these things? Aftermarket is a big black hole of nothingness.

$3000 for cats, $3000 for a good exhaust, what, maybe $3000 for a tune and you MAY get that extra 40 hp? That's not money well spent.

An XKR upgrade costs about that much, and is 510 hp.
It's always the same story....... get an XKR.
