Thumbs up "R" caliper decal solution!

Like many, my "R" decals on the brake calipers were almost invisible. After scouring this board I couldn't find a reasonably priced solution. Didn't make sense to put the same OEM decal on to just wait for it to fade. I like the "R" and found these little jewels:

High Quality R Performance Key Chain

They are almost the exact scale of the caliper decal. Coincidence? With a little work with a dremel I cut off the chain loop. Tin snips to cut the loop and a file work just as well. I carefully cleaned the caliper to remove any oils. I used 3M double sided gel-like super mounting tape. I was waiting to post until I proved durability. They have been on over a month and survived many washes and heat cycles.

They are chromed brass so they won't rust. Gives it a nice 3 dimensional look too. I use heavily diluted Simple Green to clean the wheels.

New set is only $48 for all four!!!

Nice! I was considering the very same but, I thought of using a two-part epoxy glue instead of the double sided tape. There is a lot of heat and vibration at that location and I was concerned that if the relatively heavy piece came off the speed, it could damage the wheel. The part that it is glued onto is a simple, cheap, easy to remove plate that could be replaced if and when needed.

Way too big...that's the same size as the rear hatch badge.

The original caliper decal is closer to 1 inch by 2 inches which is the exact size of the key chain fob.

The 3M tape I used is good to 300F so it shouldn't come off. I'll post if it fails.

I bought new decals from the eBay seller below. He was SUPER nice and it didn't take that long to get over the pond

SUPERGRAPHICSF1 Brake Decal Sticker Fit Jaguar R Front R with Red Green X1 | eBay

He offers both the Lime Green stripe for newer models and the Dark Green stripe for older models.

I have had them on for over 3 months and live in Texas with stop and go traffic, along with regular car washes and they haven't given out in the least.

I like those decals listed on EBay. It said that you must paint the calipers first. Not sure what that means. Did you paint yours first?
