It runs very well as always and start well now. They already trade the throttle body the motor is doing the same, we have not updated the 2 ECU plate. I noticed there is much less xkr after 2011 on sale in france, it used to be a dozain used and there is only one now, but 5 xkrs now? strange...maybe the xkr will become collectible if it become so rare, how about in the us?

dealer is installing me a nav update 2 dics 2 hours, download which i bought online indeed, very kind , i hope to enjoy it after and be free. I am not going to buy a warranty. (2900e)

Jaguar Xkr - annonce Jaguar Xkr occasion
The link works for me. I can tell you what it says. They say that MB engines get a common surging problem. The dealer replaces the Throttle Body.

They will become collectible- because there is a trend in America you would not believe. So many people are buying cars that have good shape and rare and putting $100,00+ in performance into them. So in the factory that manufacturers for me, they have done several old mustangs and camaros for $300,000 LOL.

But right now many of the XKs will come off warranty and thats when people get scared and sell. There are lots right now.

this 5 liter is a good engine! Thank you for the MB throttle infos. Thank you the link works now, they cleaned my 2 TB and they said they re really clean, an engineer passed 3 days on the car too.

In sport mode the other day i was at a a red light and I accelerate a little bit! ( i forgot i was in S mode) , I didnt realised , I thought my head will pop out of my shoulder, indeed my head has backed up like 50 cm, i could not realised how fast and strong was the acceleration, it took me a few second to feel better....i never had that feeling with the xkr, i thought the xkr was more quick at that speed due to the 400kg less, but finally I doubt the xkr will start as fast, for a 2 tonnes car, I was on my ***, yesterday morning, i tried again, and its amazing the output at a stand still, how it pulls....

From what I understand its not about cleaning the throttle body- its something else more than just cleaning. Please see the other links on that same forum.

M275 Cl65 Throttle Body Gasket Restriction?? - MBWorld.org Forums

you meant a wrong gasket too, but i m unsure the link I found are about the same throttle body. I will talk to the dealer if the problem happen again, I believe it is a O ring gasket and they have been verified for me if this is the issue you talked about. If i started the car consecutivly when cold, lot of gasoline goes to the spark plugs and second time it may shows a dip in rpm but now i think the car is fine. And finally the warranty has done very well, of course its better to wait and see to judge but i feel in trust now. And that battery, how strong it is, amazing, much less deperdition than the xkr. I want have a good trip and i enjoy driving it slowly too, since i want go to france i have no choice.

its ready now,

this is the warranty message:
"We have carried out a full engine health check, changed spark plugs, throttle bodies, MAF sensors and checked air intakes, fuel pressure and engine breather system."

he forgot they r also changed the 8 O2 sensors.
serious job, I wander it might be close of 5k.

That doesn't sound like much work for 5K or is that an expected price?

no no I was just saying so, it may have costed me? with taxes included, i am not paying anything, and I am even getting a car cover for my taxis bills. The warranty has paid everything.
the car still accelerating when started, now even when warm, dealer said it will do it. not all the time. I will try to accept it and see how it goes in the next weeks or months.

I am glad cause 7 months after my purchase, I have not seen any rapide prices going down, or maybe a little bit on a few 2010 high mileage ones, i have even seen a 2013 rapide not s (like mine) at 110 000 euros (its 14 000 e more than what I paid), with the 5 k invested in my car i even think I could try to sell it actually more than what I paid for after 7 months owning it and driving 10 000 km. I lost 23k on the xkr in 18 months and i realize it will not happen like this with the rapide. yeah i may not feel the same punch at low speed accelerations, but at high speed the rapide goes to 300km. while i look at the seats the quality built, you cant compare to jaguar, my seats and mats were folded used at 30k km on the xkr, while here they are like new, super hard nothing move/fold/ seats leather is perfect and it was loose on the xkr, with sign of being stretched.

Maintenance costs are much higher on the Aston than the Jag. I may still go for an Aston at our next car purchase time frame (January 2018) once our Volvo expires.

The local dealer charges $150 an hour for Aston. I need to find a local place for less before I'd feel comfortable owning one.

I think you are more in the obscur about the car reliability than worry abut the 150. since it is better built it does not brake like this, you invest in parts that will last, one time its resolved, you do not find issue like on some jags.
listen the only thing i found pricy and i could discuss it and brings my oil like other do in the uk with official am place, they charged 60e a liter of oil, 12 liters needed its 720 euros of oil, which cost 10 euros online,
But its nothing, i will pay probably the fee at 60 a liter and shut my mouth cause the car reliability is strong, the battery is strong and the comunication is better, am places are smaller and you do not see any run arounds or emotions/caracter dealer involved situations...
i did not buy a warranty and i am very happy with the car I regret not doing more long distances. for me its cheap. sorry. I invested 2 k on paint and c quartz.

but hey, i think my am dealer is much cheaper than that at 112 e per hour

i will buy a db11 in 9-12 months, m looking for a gold/brown one or light blue.

That's good to hear it's been reliable. I don't know any local owners to see how they've faired owning one. We really liked the Rapide, but the one local to me was an awful color combo and I still have reservations on the dealership. I have a hunch they treat/service customers that bought a car there differently than customers with cars from other Aston/Lotus dealerships.

I see, I was skeptic too, i asked paris they charged 25 euros for oil, so lot of differences from one dealer to another one in a different country.
finally the service manager has a house nearby i live and i trust them, i had fears before people could be lazy or make mistakes or even some will mess your car, but this will not happen there, i m glad i trusted the whole deal, buying it was tough for me, and i don-t recommend those with lower mileage, i find out they come with more things to fix indeed.
I do not get out or drink anymore, even a single glass, or a beer, nothing, it is teaching me a lot of good things indeed.
i remember the two vantage you showed, i like the vantage noise, but i do not like the clutch or i heard bad comments about the sportshift and mantenance, and again the rapide is very different and has much more presence and options, a 2010 now can be cheap in the us like low 70k or less, i will do it without hesitation.

I paid 250 e a tire mounted with a good independant. you could go to the dealer just for the service stamp and do brakes and tires with an independant.

I will revisit Aston when our Volvo lease expires. Thanks for the note of confidence with the marque!
