Default Rear Caliper Rewind Tool - Which Size (Pin Centres)

Hi guys,

I'm going to change the pads on my 5.0 XKR over the next couple of days. Does anybody know which size adapter I require for the rewind tool for the rears?

There's multiple adopters available with different pin centres.

Thanks guys.

If you are renting or buying the kit it usually comes with an assortment of adapters. I think there are only 4 different ones.

If I understand your question, your talking about retracting the calipers? Take a look at this, if you're toolless. Different forum, same answer.

As a tip here you also need to push down on the piston as you are turning it. The special tool which all auto stores sell does that for you. Sometimes just turning does not retract the piston. Also remove some brake fluid from the MC bottle or crack the brake bleeder as you are doing this.

Equally important is to follow the EPB reset procedure to the letter. The first step is to depress the brakes several time s to push the new pads into position. If an attempt to set the EPB is made without doing so it's possible to over extend the actuaotr leading to a real painful reset of that unit.

Note also that if fluid is removed from the system via the caliper bleed or directly from the reservoir, such action can lead to insufficient fluid levels down the road as the new pads wear. Be sure to add whatever volume was removed before closing the hood.
