Rear driving light wire failure

Hi,
I'm hoping someone on here might be able to give me some guidance on a problem I'm having with my 2007 Jaguar XK. I recently had a warning come up on the dashboard for a rear driving light failure on the drivers side. Upon a bit more investigation it turns out its the light on the side of the rear light cluster (there's 2 driving lights in each rear cluster) and the main driving light that points backwards still works fine. I dug a little deeper and removed the light cluster to check the wiring and the cable feeding the faulty lamp appears to be dead.
So my question is, where is the best place to try and run a new cable from in the boot area and is there a good wiring diagram to help? Also the MOT is coming up in about 10 days, because 1 driving lamp in the cluster still works would it be ok or does it need both to pass?
Any help would be much appreciated

Are you certain that you have a problem?
You explained that you have a 2007 XK and one of the "rear driving lights" on the driver's side is out. Is that a backup light? Are you aware that all 4.2L X150 models have only one backup light, and that it's on the passenger side? The other similar tail light (on the driver's side) is a fog lamp (red LED) that is activated by a switch on the dashboard. If your fog lamp doesn't work, you need to replace that assembly since there's no replaceable bulb. You don't have a backup light on the driver's side.
Note that, for safety, the fog lamp is always closest to the center line of the road. That shows drivers behind you the location of the center of the road.
North American 4.2L X150 models (LHD) have one backup light on the right rear and one fog light on the left rear.
Do you have an Owner's Handbook? If not, look in the "Stickies" at the top of this Forum.
Good luck!

Is it not 1 grounding point for each rear lamp cluster? Are you certain that one of the bulbs (it is an ‘07) is not burnt out?
I always replace the “sets” of bulbs.
That is, if its a marker light, I replace all markers. If its a brake light, I replace all brake lights… Old habits die hard.
