Wow, THAT'S an OLD article........ included "With the F-Pace still two years away from launch, the company was concentrating on staying lean and turning a profit."

2014 maybe?

MOST of that article is old, I specifically remember seeing it in years past. It was probably updated with a tiny bit of info, but nothing stands out as different.

The article was RE-released with a tiny bit of change. Yahoo News does the same thing, recycles old news stories from years ago with a slightly changed Headline and a new date.

Google found a part of the old article:
"

Sep 28, 2016 - Reborn Jaguar XK to lead new Jag sports car family | Autocar. Elegant 2+2 XK flagship looks set to join a new F-Type in Jaguar's sports car line-up. autocar.co."

The links don't fetch the crawled article, they are there somewhere but not directly found. Facebook doesn't go back that far.

Seems to be an ongoing thought, but I still see no Official word from Jaguar.

I love everything about it except for the quiet. I've gotten kind of used to the XKR's roar.

JLR (Tata) is not going to build a new XK, regardless of what Ian C. says.
If a manufacturer cannot move at least 1,000 units annually of any model, the MSRP must be over $250K to justify the R&D, & factory tooling expenses for that model. The current market will never support/buy an new XKR in that price range.
Look instead for a stretched F-Type to be marketed as a 2+2. Or look even further ahead to whatever will (eventually) replace the F-Type, to have a more flexible line-up including a two-seater & a four-seater.

I wish the new Jags would tone down its sporty pretensions and ride more plush and luxurious. And please put the Velar electronics inside the F-Pace and all Jag models.

We are looking at a Velar over the F-Pace when our XE lease is up. The Velar interior is much cooler looking (as is the exterior).

Sat in a Velar and a F-Pace. The only thing I didn't like about the Velar was the low sitting position unbefitting of a Range Rover. Felt no difference than sitting in a sedan. F-Pace, on the other hand, felt like a proper SUV even with its dated interior.

You may want to wait, if you can, for the Defender release, its the jewel of the crown and highly anticipated refresh 30 years overdue. They will hit it out of the park. And those cars never depreciate. But dont expect luxury.

I don't know how receptive she'll be to a Defender. We have until next June and I'd like the to stick with a JLR product if possible. Volvo and Alfa Stelvio are on the list. Highly likely to lease again, so need to see who has the deals.

Defender would be fun, but we just don't do that kind of driving. When we had the Range Rover, never used any of the off road options once. So sad, but true.

Not for off-roading at all, anymore. Just like Rolls not chauffeured anymore.
Huge craze these days of having such vehicles, G wagon is in the same category- rugged understated luxury if you will. Which is why they are in such high demand. Look around here you will see what the underlying objective is for these cars. https://ecdautodesign.com/

Whoever does the concept art for this mag must be really short, their renditions always look squashed
