Default Rebuilding 5.0 XKR Eaton TVS - need torque specs and oil capacity

Good afternoon everyone,

I am in the middle of rebuilding the Eaton TVS supercharger on my 2010 XKR 5.0. I cannot find anywhere in the repair manual the torque specs for:

1. Snout bolts
2. Blower oil/gears cover bolts in the rear
3. Oil drain plug in the rear

Also, how much oil does the Eaton TVS take if it was completely dry. Going based on what I drained would be incorrect since a lot of oil was still left on the oil cover and gears. Some oil was lost during the disassembly process as well.

Can someone please help? Much appreciated. Thank you.

Wink Google search to the rescue

Found this chart on google search

If you can't find the true torque settings then I always use RED thread lock and a calibrated elbow technique

Thank you for the info! I actually reached out to Eaton tech support. Let's see if they have this information. I will post it here if I do get an answer (hopefully).

I don't know about how much Tourqe is required for the fill /drain plug , when I refilled mine the hard way I simply tightened using a Allen key 3/16 hand tight and extracted 120ml using a syringe and then put in 180ml again using the syringe and oil kit supplied by powerhouse . You cannot over fill doing it this way as it will run back out the fill/drain hole

Makes sense re: oil level.

At max capacity, if I use the chart above it would be 5.1 fl oz (or 150 ml). I will probably end up filling it partially while the blower is held vertically and rotate the lobes a few times so the gears and the rear cavity get a nice thick coating of oil. I'll set it down and fill it to the line before I close up the plug.

I found snout bolts torque specs for a Gen 5 Eaton M112 - 27 Nm (20 ft lbs). Torque all bolts in a star pattern to 20 Nm (15 ft lbs) and proceed to max torque.

car will thank you , the old supercharged oil stinks , and evaporates through time , on the 4.2l cars it's easy to change as the fill /drain port is at the front , but on all 5.0l aj133 engine it's at the back

I dove in a bit deeper than I expected into the XKR maintenance and stopped short of taking the heads off. I want to enjoy the car for the summer.

I learned a lot taking this engine apart. One day perhaps I'll do a write-up with pictures of all the little quirks and pains I went through.

I do love this car!
