Replacement for the awful OE Lug Nuts/Bolts?
#41
Just a simple glance will tell you. They are mag style, with a 60 degree chamfer at it's base, just as it should. I've been doing vehicles for 40 years, spent a decade at one of the Big 3, and I do know a quality part when I have it. I purchased 4 different manufacturers lugs before I settled on the best one I could find, and that at 1/3 the cost of Gorilla. (and had a better chrome finish as well) They shine up right purdy... As always, never use an impact tool on chrome anything, and they'll last the life of the car.

These were only $18 shipped:
20pc OE Mag Style Lug Nuts with Washer | 12x1.5 | Toyota Lexus (Chrome Silver)) | eBay
They are chrome plated and seem to be decent quality. The base is a tad longer than the stock Jag but still about 1/8" less then the depth of the mag.

My current nuts are 10mm from washer base to end of mag shaft, or whatever it's called. I see that the new ones are 14mm from nut to end, but that disregards the unknown thickness of the washer. My stock washers are 2.5mm. It'd really suck to have nuts bottom out and not hold the wheel tight. I'll see if I can measure the depth of my stud holes, but if you could also shemp, that would be beneficial. All my tools are in my workshop garage, and I'm not near there. My wheels are the stock Nevis, so whatever the gap is would be great info. Of course since you already said they fit with the 1/8" clearance, all I'd have to know is if you also have Nevis wheels.

It's referred to as the "Shank" Cee Jay et al. So when looking (try shopping Jegs first) as it will usually provide Shank length and measure your stock to compare. If the new nut washers are thinner, revert to your OEM washers.

They are captive washers, can't swap 'em. I suppose I could press them off and others on, but why? Could add extra washers also, but why buy new and then make them fit?

Ok. The washer is captive and the depth from the bottom of washer to end if shank is 12mm. Here are some pics of the finish. Looks ok but not the best. Gonna get coated with brake dust anyways . Also I don't know if I have Nevis wheels as I'm still a Jaguar novice but here's a pic of my filthy wheel with the lugs installed . Hope this helps.

I own them, and are on my vehicle. When I suggest them, it's not haphazardly. Have a great day.

Thanks for checking, I'll order a set.

You guys probably already realize this but these are 21mm lugs so you'll need a new wrench. I bought one of these (and a few other members did too. See https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...estion-170507/)

The design is solid but the bag is cheap. I wrapped a rag around the bag and pressed it right into the existing lug nut wrench storage slot.

I may go this route. I'll look into in the offseason. Right now I just have a spare breaker bar and socket in the spare well.
