Default Replacing ambient air sensor in mirror

I finally made it to a 2011 XKR after owning numerous 2001-2006 XKR's and a 2007 and 2008 XKR.
First project is replacing the AAS. While most references say it's in the bumper it appears to be in the drivers side mirror. Do I need to remove the glass or is there another way to get to it?

You need to remove the Cover and the Glass:

Procedure from the Workshop Manual which you can download from the 'stickies' at the top of the threads.

All the Jaguar dealers I've called (4) say its up front under the bumper. The part number is LJA7605AB. .

Maybe there's a difference between stationary and power-fold mirrors?
