Hi all - new to site & looking to obtain some advice/knowledge please. Am looking at a black 2014 xkr from a Jaguar dealer. Is a dynamic model with 26000 miles - I believe the last of these models had the dynamic pack added. I also note there have been 4 previous owners!! Unfortunately I am unable to view the car at present-it is currently priced at £31500. Thanking You.

That's just under $40,000 U.S. For a low mileage dynamic pack 2014 XKR, assuming no body or other damage, that would not be a bad buy, IMO, in the States. I just bought a 36,000 mile, non-dynamic pack 2014 XKR with two prior owners, in excellent shape, for $33,000. Do you have access to a reliable accident report record on the car?

4 Jockeys is not unusual, it does point to a car not very loved, and just leased. Possibly also a lemon-law repurchase. All depends on service history and length of ownership.
If first owner got rid of it in the first year, red lights should be flashing.
It also points to something else- dealers go out of their way to find 1 owner vehicles, many of which are bad news.
You will be able to buy this car if you are determine for 25% less than its current price if you wait 6 months. Trust me its going nowhere, not with 4 owners.

Many thanks for the comments-in it’s description it states full Jaguar history. As I say unfortunately the dealership is presently closed due to Coronavirus. Have to agree, 4 owners in 6 years makes me think something not just 100%. However this Jaguar dealer has always had top cars whenever I have had occasion to call with them on previous purchases.

Given that you have a relationship with the dealer; you should be able to get the service records if the XKR was serviced there. If not, then there is a thing in the states called a Pre Purchase Inspection. That kind of an inspection is what a car goes through in order to be sold as a "certified " Jaguar and the car then caries an extended warranty. My point here is you should be able to get a "Pre-puchase Inspection" done for around $500-600 even if it is a made up one matching the specifications used for it. To find out what the inspection is all about type the words pre-purchase inspection in search box at the upper right corner of this page. then follow the links.

It is a trait in the UK that sports cars etc do change hands frequently,
I don’t do that myself as my own cars I have owned 7 and 13 years respectively , my XK was 6 years old and had 4 owners when I bought it 7 years ago,
If you can afford £80k for a sports car you can probably change it on a whim and not worry about residuals

I bought my 2014 XK Dynamic R coupe in October 2018 as find that sports cars typically are at their lowest prices, where AWD cars are at their highest.
Mine had 48k miles and the only ones available were from main dealers, the cheapest was £42k, so I was delighted to find an independant garage that had it listed as an 'XKR' selling for £32k, I snapped their arm off, in fact only asked for £500 off a full tank of fuel and free delivery, which I got. Mine only had one previous owner, so sounds like mine won't have depreciated much.
As stated above Jaguar dealers will do a free health check, so I would defo go for it, also try and haggle at least £1k off...well you gotta try!
You've not said if coupe or vert or the external amd interior colours. I wanted a coupe in stratos (?) grey but the only one available was a vert at £47k and I have no hair to feel the wind in these days![Frown](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Oh, my only word of advice would be to check the tyres are all matched and eithout damage, mine had...wait for it...budget all season tyres on the front, so changed all immediately for MPS4S's which on the 12k miles I've since covered are all still above 6mm. One of the front vortex alloys was buckled and that cost me £300 off ebay.
Oh, dont let the dealer treat or seal the paintwork, it will need to be properly corrected and polished prior to that and best left to a specialist...or yourself if you have the ability/tools/products![Smile](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Yep it does apparently does have a sports exhaust but mine was modified by the last owner and has no back box whatsoever.
How the standard XK Dynamic's Sports exhaust differs from any other 5.0l XKR's sports exhaust is beyond me though.
It does have harder suspension than a standard XKR, in my case harder still as previous owner fitted poly bushes, so hope you have any dental issues? I've driven stateside a fair bit and even the roughest roads (New Mexico in my experience) were nowhere near as bad as some of ours...not sure why?
Defo get the Dynamic as it has the side gills the right way around, oh you'll not get ventilated seats like in the XK as it'll have the 'super sport' (?) quilted interior which are just heated, that said they apparently weigh 15kg less each than the stock seats.

Wait WHAT - just to have cooled seats adds 30lb PER SEAT? My window air conditioners weigh less. Can that be right?
