This one has a rather expensive option set when new.
The last 2011 model year production run in a numbered limited batch.
It has an improved exhaust design that was carried forward for the XKR-S.
Larger skirts, larger rear spoiler, and a painted wrap around rear low under spoiler.
Nothing in that list really stands out as something I would go buy, but I prefer a tan interior and won't do much more than glance at something else.
I consider the X150 XKR to be the successor to the 928 so you're on the right track for a replacement.

If the front seats have what looks like ‘racing stripes’ down the middle, those are the seats used in the lower end interior. That applies to the regular shaped seats only, not the sport seats.

So this doesn’t help the OP, but I found it a bit interesting that this UK XKR was going for about the same price, after conversion, as the US ones similarly specked, and in as good a condition. I would compare this to the first one on his list.
I found it because a YouTube video popped up in my feed, and I didn’t realize it was a commercial for the dealership until the end. Still not a bad video promoting what we like about these cars.

Thanks for the great feedback, especially @pk4144. I did not know that about the touring, and I've eliminated that car, along with the touring models from my search. I'm ready for a bump in HP over the 928, and the only way to really get that is by going with a FI motor on the X150. I'll go ahead and remove those cars from my original post.
Regarding color comments, I'm not really letting those influence my decision, as it's really a personal preference. I would LOVE a rare color, but prefer a dark interior (easier to keep 'clean' looking), and I honestly love EVERY paint color I've seen for sale... so, that really opens up my options.
I'll keep everyone updated... just waiting on the at-fault driver's insurance to determine value on the 928 so I know how much money I'm working with. I expect to purchase something in the next 2 weeks. Thanks again.

Here's the most current list, arranged by year, of the cars I'm considering. For some reason, the edit button is missing from that post, but it's best to keep it as-is so that replies still correspond to the correct vehicles.
- 2010 XKR (SAJWA4DCXAMB34628)
- 2010 XKR (SAJWA4DC0AMB38784)

- 2010 XKR (SAJWA4DC5AMB32933)
- 2011 XKR (SAJWA4DC3BMB42488)

On the XKR-175, what's going on with those rear seats? Is that a tear in the stitching seam? I've seen some similar photos on other listings, but can't tell if it's an issue or not.
It's also really dissappointing that they dressed all that leather in armor-all type product. Leather is NOT supposed to be shiny, and that car would need a full interior detail to get looking nice again.

Just got a call from insurance and they're going to repair the 928 instead of giving me a check, so this project is on hold for now. As soon as the repair is complete and I feel comfortable selling I'll pick this back up. Thanks everyone for the help so far, I feel much more comfortable going into a purchase than I did before. Stay tuned.

This one isn't for the original poster, but if anyone is looking for a 4.2XKR this seems like a pretty damn good deal. 2007 XKR $11K It just poped up yesterday in my localish CL, and I have not seen it listed in the last year that I do the occasional check, or at least that I remember. Yes it has higher miles then most of us would like to start with, but if it truly was well maintained that shouldn't be an issue, and to be honest it's only a little over 10K a year, that isn't that high. From the second set of tires, it sounds like this owner drove it year round in WI, that means salt and issues regarding that. The wheels are aftermarket, and the interior is showing some ware. But as long as it is mechanically sound, and in pretty decent shape otherwise, this seems like a lower then average price.
Just for curiosity sake, I may go look, just to see how it compares to my 4 year older X100 with the same motor.

Update... looks like they've given up repairing the 928. They are required to find and install used parts, which they estimate will take 6 months to 1 year.
So, I have 3 on my radar right now, and will likely purchase by the end of next week depending on timing for a check from State Farm to deposit in my account:
2013 JAGUAR XKR (SAJWA4DC5DMB48750)

Avoid all 3.
The miles are too high and the price is not low enough to justify.
Let me give you 2 examples. If the trans fluid has not been changed by 50,000 and the car driven hard, you will need a new one, if you are looking to put miles on it yourself.
If the electronic diff has not been done under same scenario, you will need a new one.
On a car with 40k miles, from a known jaguar enthusiast, either those thing will be done or they will be able to tell you. Then there is fuel injectors, supercharger idolator, the list is big on thing that are needed by 50-60k miles.
Buy an older car if you have to. Simplest way to look at is, you are buying miles. Say that 100,00k is like 80 in human years, (beyond 80, everything is a bonus and not factored) why would you buy a newer car (i.e. more money) only 20% away from 80 years old. That would be like buying 20%.
Sadly your timing is bad. I just looked, there are hardly any 2010+ XKR on the market. This is the lowest I have seen it.

I am the type of buyer that considers maintenance over miles any day. These seemed to be good candidates, but I was unaware that the injectors and a supercharger isolator were common maintenance items before 60K miles.
That being said, my previous post is updated with CARFAX maintenance histories.
I am currently favoring the lunar grey car at the dealership.
