I also had a few iphones, they were OK and I was quite happy with them..... until someone gave me their old HTC Hero when my crabapple broke. DANG, it was SO much better. I've used other people's newer ips, but they are still no good. Not comparatively, anyway.
Anyway, sorry about the Hijack.

You'd think a group of people that drive a luxury car would want a luxury phone. RIP.

We do. That's why no iphoneys. Luxury means high quality, not high-price alone. iphones have not been the leader in phone technology or innovation for many, many years. The only thing apple is good at is marketing, garnering a corner of consumers who will buy ONLY iphones, ever, regardless of if they are superior OR inferior. iphone buyers are basically in a cult, a cult in which they MUST continue to belong or be ostracized by their peer cultists. GREAT marketing strategy. That's why the word "iSheep" came about. Really quite sad when you think about it.

What IS sad is how vocal people are against the iPhones and Apple. If you don't like something just don't buy it!

I have only briefly had a play with an Android phone and found it to be a confusing mess so I just don't buy them. I don't jump down peoples throat as soon as they mention Android.

My first iPhone was a hand me down and I fell or the simplicity of IOS and how easy it has always been to upgrade. I have just bought my 4th, a new iPhone 8 Plus, and it was up and running in less than 20 minutes with all of the apps and content that was on my old phone. It also paired flawlessly with my '07 XKR and as far as I am aware they are the only make of phone that has consistently worked with the early XK's. I had my last iPhone for 3 years and I sold it for just under 50% of what I paid for it. If I really cared what people thought or wanted to show off I would have waited for the iPhone X.

I don't understand what people see in MAC's so I am not particularly an Apple fan but I buy devices that suit my purposes. I have an old iPad and a newer Microsoft Surface next to my bed but I still pick the iPad up in preference to the Surface because it just works. It turns on instantly and I can download my emails and use an app to read the paper. I then take the Surface to work because it is a better office tool for use in meetings, etc.

You could pretty much replace the word iPhone with Jaguar in your post but we still buy them!

Your analogy doesn't work..... Jaguars are actually GOOD.

I don’t see where it does anything more than one that is available for 1/4 the price.

Stay.
Away.
From.
That.
Piece.
Of.
****.

I made the mistake of buying it based on the reviews and it is the worst piece of electronics kit I've ever owned (going all the way back to the old Colecovision Aquarius home "computer"...). It usually doesn't have a problem pairing with your phone or tablet, but then when you launch the app it only connects about 50% of the time and woe be to he who has something that isn't common...then you run into all sorts of issues.

I bought it because I wanted to find out what was wrong with my stepfather's Buick (I was selling it as part of the estate I inherited when he passed earlier this year) and also wanted to use it on my Lotus to keep track of the emissions faults so I could hopefully figure out what was wrong. Anyway, it connected (the device was already paired with the phone, but the app had to connect to it) with the 2001 Buick perhaps 3 times out of 5 tries, perhaps 4 our of 5 tries on my 2015 Outback, and if I was lucky, the planets were aligned, and all the old gods and goddesses joined God and his angels, it might work 1 out of 10 or 12 times with the Lotus.

If you want to try it, send me a PM and I'll send it to you free of charge. Then all you'll need to do is download the app and you'll be good to go.
