Restricted Performance - and a long way from home

I'm carrying SDD on my laptop and a Mongoose cable but my Breakdown Insurance would be invalidated if I'd cleared the codes - it could look like a pre-existing fault and I'd have no way of refuting that.
Repatriating a vehicle from mainland Europe to the UK is very expensive so I'm letting them play their games first.

After getting frightening messages from the breakdown service in Madrid about the parts the Jaguar Dealer here in Burgos was putting on the car (plugs, coils, cat), I told them I'd authorised no parts and to do no further work until I visited the Dealer this morning.
The Service Manager spoke reasonable English, the technician who was working on the car did not but we all spoke fluent Jaguar SDD. The first thing they had checked was battery condition which we all agreed can cause many weird electrical and electronic faults. The battery is definitely OK. The Technician ran the diagnostics sessions he'd completed and we went through them line by line, alternating SDD between Spanish and English so we could agree what it was showing and how to proceed. The Service Manager clearly isn't used to meeting a Jaguar owner like me!
Diagnostics had initally showed misfires on all 8 cylinders. They showed me the TSB on RP which first requires ensuring the ECM software is up-to-date. They checked and it required an update so was re-flashed.
Clearing down the DTC's, repeated drive cycles then showed consistent misfires on the 4 left bank cylinders which they had verified by repetition. The right bank is consistently clear. Fuel pressure has also been checked. The car will run smoothly until warm and then immediately goes into RP mode. However there are no relevent DTC's to indicate a temperature sensor issue.
They have an identical UK registered XK in the workshop with a broken timing chain and substituted coils from this one with mine to see if that cleared the misfires. It did not so they refitted my original coils and now want to eliminate left bank injectors. They are going to do a similar substitution process later today.
It's time consuming and obviously building up a labour bill but they are avoiding buying any parts until they have pinpointed the precise cause. Unusual to find a Jaguar Dealer looking to save a customer money.
We are now stuck in a hotel for a third night and if they haven't resolved it by tomorrow I'll get a hire car to get to our destination and come back for mine when it's ready. It's "only" a 1600 mile round trip.

Would it not be a warranty repair as a 14 plate? Also are there known issues with the injectors in the later MY's as I'd not read about any?

GGG, better check your oil for excessive gasoline smell...

The Dealer called tonight to say the injector substitution had resolved the issue and by individual replacement they had tracked it down to one left bank injector. The part will be ordered tomorrow and arrive on Thursday.
The breakdown company also sent a hire car to the hotel so we can resume our journey in the morning. I'll not enjoy the 800 mile treck back to Burgos in a VW Polo but I'll certainly enjoy the return to our holiday villa in an unloaded XK - no luggage and no wife.

I drove 812 km (504 miles) from Burgos in northern Spain to Competa on the south coast in a hired VW Polo today - 8 hours of purgatory.
Burgos Jaguar Dealer advised this evening by eMail that Jaguar had the injector in stock and hopes it will arrive tomorrow so he can complete the repair the same day. I certainly hope so as I don't relish the prospect of driving a VW Polo any longer than absolutely necessary. Unfortunately I will have to drive it the 812 km back to Burgos to collect the XK.

The thing with these injectors is they all connect to a single rail on each bank. When ONE injector sticks open (the usual problem) the additional flow causes the OTHER injectors to also at least partially fail due to that lower High Pressure Fuel Rail pressure.
That's what happened when my #4 injector failed.
Threw codes for entire even-number bank.
