I finally concluded that I should get off of the pot and do something about my floating suspension xk-150 conv.
I saw that Miles61 just installed BC coilovers and was going to ask some very specific questions and as an aside I asked if he wanted to sell the old oem bilsteins. (61K)
We struck a deal so my planning begins.
I expected to replace the top ‘caps’ but then recalled that stevek-xk mentioned he installed xkr front shocks on an xk and it resulted with a higher front stance since the addition weight of the sc wasn’t there to compress the springs.
He compensated by shaving several mm from the springs.
This leads me to this question, if I install these with new top caps will they be even higher until the caps settle (squish) a bit? At which time I will need to pull them and trim the springs, I don’t want the car setting higher and it cannot set lower or I grind everything off of the underside.
my current ground:fender lip distance is :
Is there a place where I can get the measurement of ground to fender lip for both the front and rear of non modfied xkr conv?
