Satellite and FM reception is complete rubbish
Sirius continually breaks up and FM reception is at best "crappy". I have read the past threads involving this subject but it seems there is no clear fix for this problem. Any suggestions what I can do to correct this problem??

Same experience on my 2010 XKR. I transferred my service from my bmw to the Jag about a month ago. Lost signal a fair amount in NY but it was tolerable. Shipped the car to Tampa, (I used Plycar by the way and they were great) it worked for two days then I have been sending the signal and getting nothing back the past week. I'll be calling sirius tomorrow.

I think FM reception is ok, I haven't had too much time to test it though. I'll be using the car more this weekend so I will give an update. I am determined to find an easy way to play my music from my Droid. In my bmw i used the auxiliary plug and it was nice and simple... I have heard about the radio apps which let you play music from the phone. But I just wonder about sound quality. I am going to see a friend with an audio company this weekend to search for some alternatives. Neeeeeed my music!

Jaguar can't win !!!
When the 2006 X150 XK came out (Model Year 2007 in the US) the customers and press whined about the 'tacky' external antenna (or aerial...).
So for 2008, Jag integrated it into the rear spoiler. And similar people whined about the degraded reception...

Well you have a couple of Options (and your audio company may suggest others):
1. Replace the head unit with an aftermarket. Don't know how feasible
that is, as it is highly integrated with the in-car MOST network.
2. Get a factory ACM (Audio Connectivity Module) installed. Standard from 2009 onwards I think ?? They're getting hard to find now. There's posts on here about installs of these. Probably going to run $200-500.
3. Get an FM Modulator kit. Converts the digital input to an unused radio-frequency then you tune the FM radio to that frequency. Quality is going to suffer tho ....
4. Convert your MP3/WMA/Apple stuff to Digital CD. I digitally copied my WMA music to a couple of data CDs, and they play fine thru the CD player. Each CD holds around 680Mb, so you'll need a few, but the 6 disc player is compatible. The track info comes-up on the display, and I can scroll with the on-wheel control. And its cheap !!
I have the 'Premium Sound' package, so I don't know if this works on all systems. It'd be quick to test tho.
Hope this helps.

How about going to a nearby Jag dealer and have him demonstrate a Sirrius radio in another Jaguar at his place? They shouldn't charge anything for that imho.
Mine Sirrius is in a 2007 XK and I just used it on a drive from Ft Worth to Carlsbad and back and the radio sounded fine to me all the way. Just FYI.

My Sirius reception is fine but does seem overly sensitive to dropout whenever I drive under trees or bridges. In a clear sky the reception is fine. Which is good because my FM/AM reception is horrible. Anyone have poor FM/AM reception or any ideas on how troubleshoot the issue. I think there is an amp somewhere in the line but no idea where to start looking. I've also heard of a possible bad ground connection but again, no idea where to look. Mine s a 2009 xkr which I believe has the antenna in the spoiler.

I don't know about AM/FM (who uses that stuff anymore anyway?? ;D), but the Satellite in my Jag is about the same as in my Dodge Ram or my wife's Juke. They all drop out at the same locations, all have similar performance. I don't think there's anything better or worse about the Jag unit.
