Okay, so back to the original post content, "Schooled at the Red Light Grand Prix," yesterday when I left our office building heading to the freeway about a mile away, I came up behind a "new" BMW M6 while approaching a stoplight. He was revving his engine (as if he had a manual tranny) consistently. By the time we got to the next stoplight, I was the first car in the left lane which feeds onto the freeway after about a block and a half. The Bimmer was next to me revving away again, also the first car at the light, and as soon as the light changed he was off at full throttle. I knew i'd be turning on to the freeway after a block, so I decided to have a little fun for the short block. Needless to say, he very quickly appeared in my rearview mirror, and then I turned on to the freeway on ramp. I'm sure he was a little disappointed. So while it wasn't a ludicrous Tesla, the M6 got "schooled at the red light Grand Prix."

My young son works for Tesla in NY, and I constantly hear about the insane 0 to 60 times, and I can personally vouch for the eye-popping 0 to 119 times as well. Any four door sedan capable of carrying five in relative comfort while accelerating at hyper-car velocities is without a doubt worthy of praise.
Same son visits me over the holidays, and is now searching for an XKR. Yes it's slower, and the tech is woefully behind the automotive equivalent of a new iphone, and yet I had to fight to get the cat back. It may have been the context or the combination; young guy, black on black cat, and southern Florida along the eastern coast in December when the weather is just about perfect and the Canadians have flocked for warmth and fun. Or not. He's back in NY and still pining for the Jag.

About 20 minutes at a super charger. The real question is how many sets of tires would you go through before the novelty of demonstrating you have one of the quickest production cars on the planet wore off?
