It’s always an adventure. I did speak to an Indy shop called Jaguar Specialties that’s 60 miles from me. He has SDD and knows what I need. Unfortunately, he’s all booked up for 3 weeks. The local JLR dealer called me back to say that they would try, but we’ve had severe thunderstorms and his SDD got a power surge so it isn’t working...
Really?? What Jaguar dealer would not have a backup solution ready as this should be their bread and butter. Unbelievable.

I have had the luck of sourcing such shops in Toronto, Woburn (sadly gone) and Ottawa.
My experience is that the 'green' new and shiny shops are precisely the shops I don't want to go to... All this being said, I do wish you would move closer to me, or me to you ;-)

EDIT: I have found this to be true of other Marques as well, just doesn’t fit the fixed ops model to train beyond what is the bare minimum. Sometimes you’ll get lucky and find a tech who has been with a brand for decades but that is rare. Of the 5 jaguar dealers in central Florida one of those actually does have a rare breed of tech who’s a fan of the brand enough to have his own and he also enjoys modifying his and customer cars so he quite literally knows everything there is to know about them.

Update:
I’ve installed Cambo’s CarPlay kit and wanted to let you know that apparently the Autologic coding made “aux” show on the screen, but didn’t activate as I need it for this to work. Tomorrow’s excursion will be to undo the Autologic coding and visit the dealer for SDD coding. If that doesn’t work, maybe I’ll rent Alex’s SDD and give it a go...Alex, if you see this, I sent you an email, got no reply...FYI, this kit is not a real difficult upgrade and once the audio issues are sorted it will be awesome. The wiring harness that Cambo created couldn’t be easier to use. I’ll update again after tomorrow’s adventure...

Update!
Today was an adventure for sure. I’ll start by thanking Cambo for a great CarPlay kit along with loads of help, patience and over the top communication. I went to the Indy with Autologic to have him undo the coding he had done. It’s 610Autohaus near Pottstown, PA. He was extremely gracious, squeezing me in to his busy Monday. Even offered to refund the original $75.00 charge. I didn’t let him, he did what I asked him to do. Then I went to the JLR dealer to ask for an SDD session. It took some persistence as they were sure it couldn’t be done. It could and was done...for $170.00. Took 20 minutes. They wonder why we avoid them. The salesperson told me they sell 10 Land Rovers to 1 Jaguar, so they don’t really care about Jaguar customers. Nice. Anyhow, after all that, still no audio. I went home, took it apart again, checked every connection. No luck. When I got this car, the microphone for Bluetooth never worked. Cambo tried to help, finally suggesting a new head unit. I bought one from a breaker on eBay and never put it in. Today, I did and that was it. CarPlay works great and the original microphone works too. It turns out that a previous owner had replaced the head unit with the wrong one. Part# should end in TB, this one was TA. So now, the CarPlay works great...I went with the wireless version and it connects automatically when I get in the car. Very cool. Tried to attach video...didn’t work...

Greater CFL Tech Support
JLR switched to Pathfinder and few years ago and now, like IDS before it SDD is for vintage cars according to the main dealers I have spoken with, in fact one of the newer dealers does not even have SDD. Good thing I have my own.
