Some versions require a valid subscription to use. Other ones do not.
I now have the last version that works without a subscription so I have my Internet Disabled so the SDD Server can't do anything to my program remotely. I also can't update any of the files I DO have, but that hasn't been a problem so far.

What version SDD are you using? Which device are you connecting to your DTC? Give us some background information to know what you have done and what you’re trying to do it with. I use SDD version 131.03

1. are you using SDD downloaded from JLR server (current version is 1.60):
Index of /265935/idscentral

OR

2. are you using a cracked version of SDD?

The official version (1) requires a TOPIx "time" purchase:
https://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/topi...cle/lookupForm

Cloned versions (2) must be run in standalone mode with no internet connection.

That build of SDD is NOT going to connect to the internet or to JLR update server. Also the Mongoose Pro cable is a CLONE.

Understand the limitations of this setup. Perfectly adequate for diagnosis but I'd be very cautious about module reprogramming with a clone cable. We have members who are very relaxed about this risk and report great success with manipulating all kinds of options. We never hear from those less successful who have a "bricked" Jaguar languishing in the garage.

It should have auto-detected your VIN (?) and presented you with a screen similar to this:

Click on Diagnosis to start reading the modules. The most informative step from there is to use the DTC tab on the menu to see what can often be an alarmingly long list.

So I need some clarification. I run sdd 131.03 on my 06 STR because it’s been said many times that version 131 is one of the last versions to contain the SPA pinpoint files and the calibration files. Yeah I see lots of people using later versions. Do these later versions hacked or not contain the calibration files in the pinpoint files?

do these later versions allow you to program new and existing modules? Isn’t that what the calibration files are for?

I would love to run a newer version of SDD as a find some issues with version 131 where I have to claim all sorts of problems with my car under the diagnostics sessions in order to see recommendations and “extras” allowing me too reprogram various modules. If I don’t claim I have certain symptoms I don’t see any recommendations to do anything to the modules so I’m just selecting all sorts of different problems so that it gives me the option to reprogram or reconfigure the various modules

So if I get one of these later versions like 160 of eBay can it do all of the module programming and give me the pinpoint test or am I just stuck at reading and clearing fault codes

The last self-contained complete version to include the SPA and VDF files was SDD 1.50

After that release, the files download on connection to JLR server so I don't know how or if the software pirates get round that.

I have both 131.03 and 159 something.

Both have calibration files. One is setup on a dedicated laptop with Windows 7 and one with Windows XP. Same laptop different HDDs.

NO internet access.

I use a genuine Mongoose Drew Tech cable.

V131 works very well on my 2005 XJR and 159 works way better on my 2013 Range Rover.

I have not used V159 on the Jag as yet.

I have done programming on both vehicles successfully with a good battery support system as some programming routines can take a while .

so as I said, I have v131.03 up and running on a windows xp laptop and it works but I have to lie and say I have all these issues under the diagnosis tab in order to read DTCs or do and module programming because nothing shows up (not even a recommendations tab) unless I claim I have various symptoms that relate to a specific module.

Is that normal? It seems like some folks get all the options for all kinds of tasks without doing what i need to do. Thats the reason I want to try a later version. But the version must have all the required files and have log on info before I go that direction.

Also, under one tab I see some module diagnostic options for like the ADHL or IP or Audio but they always fail and bail out when I try to use them. Does anyone else get that?

I do not use SDD frequently enough to be an expert.

Each time I use it I get where I want to be in a hit or miss fashion and perserverence.

Often tho I enter symptoms to get to a place where it gives me recommendations.

When I get to recommendations to run a program it will give me list which goes way beyond what I want to do which I find useful as it includes what I want anyway.,

Either I'm misreading you or you're misreading the thread. You certainly need to access the internet to download a version. GGG usually has all of them and you might want to PM him.

Once downloaded
Disable SoftwareManager to prevent updating:

C:/Program Files/JLR/IDS/Runtime the file is SoftwareManager

End the SoftwareManager process with Task Manager (Alt-Ctrl-Del)
And then rename the SoftwareManager to something else (put a 2 on the end)
This will prevent the SoftwareManager from starting in future - this is a task that checks for updates whether you're connected to the internet or not.

You disable the internet before launching SDD

Was looking for the IDS/SDD on a disk or USB.
Trying to steer clear of the web downloading, all together.
A friend of mine is trying to help me.
Download the V130 software, but is having problems.
I was looking to just purchase it, the V130 IDS/SDD outright.
So the CD, or USB, would be usable on any designated computer.
Laptop or tower computer, would work.
Because the Mongoose cord is more than 12' long.

I have JLRSDD V131.03 which worked just fine on my 2005 XJR.

It is set up on a Dell Latitude E6400 2.66 Ghz with Windows XP and Freeze so the date is always the same.

I used it to reflash the TCM as well as reprogram the suspension on that car.

I rebuild Dell E6400s so have a few to play with.

I also have V131 for my 07 XK NA. How do you select specific reprogramming routines like the ones you mention? It seems to be hit or miss depending on selecting supposed diagnostic conditions.

Any way to make such specific requests, such as for a TCM reflash? Also, is there a way to see the version level a specific ECU is set for, as well as the specific level that is available on SDD?

Thanks!
