Also, below is a screen cap of the service function of the Autel AT200. You can see the seat recalibration there. TPMS is also on the next screen up. I've almost stopped using my SDD 150 in favor of this tool. Remember, some of the service routines work only on the 5.0 series (injector calibration, for example), some work on all. Yes, there's stuff on SDD that's still useful, but this gets the most common items. Cheap at $70 -- works with IoS and Droid.

They're for testing purposes. I very much doubt new code could be loaded, but that's not their purpose.
They do trigger a resident controller routine, enabling a test or an adjustment. The lights routine, the CATS tests and adjustments, the seat and window recalibration. And so on.
SDD is still how a new module would be installed, or a new software release would be installed -- though I doubt there's anything new after 8-15 years.
Still, for $70 you get fast solutions and tests, rather than SDD's many hours of learning misery and gawdawfully bad user interface.
Not to mention a hundred+ test and data points that are actually easy to find and use.

I will return my DA dongle and get my $350 back.
I will look into Mongoose, they supply software and dongle. Not sure of the price though.

Also, be VERY careful with Mongoose/Mangoose cables as they are very often poor copies and can blow stuff up.
Directly from a Clone Mongoose page....
Please note:No Internet Connecting, Or it will make damage to JLR Mangoose!!! Computer System Requires: Win 7 and Win XP

I did manage to reprogram the seats yesterday with it, so that by itself was worth the price of it to me. The passenger seat was nearly unusable, and now it is perfect! Thanks!

Glad to hear it. I've used it to test a failing light system, among other things. Enabled me to repeat the test until I found a badly adjusted height sensor. Low cost, and does enough to make it worthwhile. And of course reads JLR codes across my controllers.
I've used Mangoose without problems. But then, I only use SDD 150 once in a long while, replacing 90% of my SDD diagnostic time with the Autel. Both have their uses. Some are weak. Neither does a great job with the ZF transmission, for example. But between them, they do quite a bit.

Earlier versions are self-contained and do not 'need' an internet connection.

I was on a v161 version until recently without internet but the features are very limited. I heard about a key generator or code to use the Mongoosepro with the SDD jlr with more advanced functions. If anyone has any idea or knows anything about it please let me know.
Thanks

I believe the last version that doesn't need Topix is V150. But for most stuff, earlier versions are fine. V131 is pretty common.
I have both V150 and V131. Not clear to me if there are new files in V150 compared to earlier versions -- after V150 switches to "previous versions" based on the VIN it seems almost the same tool.
I'd love to know if there are upgraded files in V150 that would improve modules in the X150. Better head menu interfaces would be welcome....
