I too am missing the harder edge and more focus. Coincidentally I actually drove 2 Gallardo's this weekend 6spd and eGear. Am considering a 6spd.

The only 911 I would consider is GT3. Almost bought one instead of XKR 6 months ago. 911T feels like a Cadillac compared to GT3. If you are looking for a stop-gap from an XKR and still want luxury go 911T. Best toy/drivers car is GT3. My only issue is it's still just a 911. Whereas Gallardo is - well - a Lambo.

funny is.. you could have guessed the replies in this thread already.. as this is the jag forum.. if you post the same question at a Porsche forum.. they probably will tell you differently... so to reason.. why ask the question here and not the Porsche forum? ..

I agree with Parzival. Hell with the Porsche - the Jag is liquid sex on wheels!! You know you cant live without that feeling when you look at it!

Gallardo has the best of everything of the R8 and 911TT IMO; AWD, no dent panels, exotic, looks, and seems to hold its value at a good plateau.

Thanks guys for the opinions. Reason I was thinking of keeping the AMG is because of the convertible factor and also once the extended warranty is up, I can do 700 horsepower and 900 torque with just bolt on mods without opening up the engine. 900 Torque useless? Of course...LOL...but good to have at the strip with DRs. Definitely the '10 997TTs are faster with bump in displacement and PDK. Can't wait to see what the 991 Tri-Turbo will be like.

The Gallardo is more hard edge but want something more settle but still looks exotic on the road. We'll see what the redesign will be in 2014. With URs or Heffner's TT kit, those gallardos are pumping 1500HP! With the R8's detuned V10 from the Gallardo, the R8 guys are just chipping it to get the same HP as the Gallardos. Also love the idea of Audi approving Stasis mods. IE, Stasis Challenge Extreme Edition which is a blown V10 with 710HP and Audi will still cover your factory warranty with Stasis mods installed by Stasis or an authorized Audi dealer.

I'm hoping my friend sells his car fast to make my decision easier.

Not (saying to sell) the AMG, but the E350 or the SUV.

Nice stable of cars. Do you put more than 2k on any of them?

Q: What's the difference between a Porsche and a porcupine?

A: The porcupine has the ****** on the outside...

No matter what speed you drive, the steering of any modern Porsche is better than any XKR, BUT unless that or something else about the Porsche will get you to drive it considerably more, why bother? Wait for your true dream car. The right car is special regardless of popularity.
