service maintenance on 2013 xkr
Hi,
I just acquired a 2013 xkr with 66k miles on it and no real service history. I would like to get some recommendations on what type of service I should perform or consider doing to get the most enjoyment out of this vehicle. Also what to look out for to keep it running without any issues moving forward.
thank you all for any feed back

Assuming you did a PPI and there are no issues (tyres, brakes, battery, water pump, duckbill…) - I had all (!) fluids changed on mine short after acquisition (with 43,000km over 14 years). Thus I have a reliable baseline for scheduling future service / maintenance. Others will have better insights and perhaps more efficient recommendations, however.

Just to reiterate the above.
You may be able to get the service History from JLR on line, using your VIN, or contact you local JLR service station for previous service history / work done .etc.
All fluids means, Oil, Coolant, Brake, Steering, Transmission Oil and filter, the Diff oil. & Supercharger oil (5fl.oz) All of which are not on the JLR service requirement.
(look for weeping hoses at their crimps when the engine trays are off.)
May be an idea, before this is to look at upgrading to the front alloy coolant pipes and connections, and the latest water pump, thereby covering a few future issues before changing the CW fluid..( front upper and lower CW pipes,(none JLR parts and the water pump connector to oil cooler) and the brass nipple to the water pump.
Which means taking the supercharger off, but makes checking the isolator, and changing the oil and the rear coolant water pipe ( plastic only) easier.
I would also throw in the cleaning degreasing of the air coolers, and the cleaning of the inlet valves, and stems when the supercharger is off.
Always check the expansion tank level and smell for hot coolant after a run from outside the car, to catch any leaks early.
All part of preventative maintenance.... Gulp!...... But yes worth the effort for reliability.
Oh!, and read through all the posts in this forum...... a wealth of information.

+1 to the recommendation to change all fluids. It's what I do on any "new to me" vehicle regardless of anything the Service History may claim.
As a newbie, you can't download files from the forum so here's the CHECK SHEET and SERVICE SCHEDULES:
The "stickies" at the top of the threads have a lot of useful information and please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.
Enjoy your XKR. It's the end of an era and we'll never see the likes of it again.
