Anyone know why the shift actuator part number has been changed 4 times? C2P25936; Other Names: Module-Transmission; Description: Switches & controls. Replaces: C2P22319, C2P25753, C2P25834.
I have a few scratches on the one in my car. My OCD keeps telling me to replace it with a new one.
As much as you like Jaguar, why not get the real thing from British Autowood, finest British master, here in FL, he makes those toppers, he is a forum supporter.
He can put anything there. Initials!
If I had your combo, I would have him do one in piano black encrusted with diamonds or glass spheres.
The reason I want to replace this part is because there are some scratches around the base of the rotary shifter, some scratches on the e-brake and some on the piano black trim around the complete unit. The shift actuator part is for the complete unit from the ignition to the e-brake inclusive, not just for the rotary shifter top.
Glen,
I have a whole unit from when it stopped working and I had to buy another. I'm more than happy to send it to you, and maybe you can scavenge cosmetic parts from it. I will have a look at it today as it's been bumpin' around my garage for the past couple of years, and I'll take a picture and post. Interestingly, it is slightly different than the one that replaced it. The "new" one has all piano black surrounds while the original had the stainless surround. I had some surgery yesterday, but I'm home, and a little later I'll go find it and send you a picture.

Thanks guys. I'm fine but sore. Hernia surgery leaves you a bit grumpy and a lot sore, but I didn't need the painkillers last night so I'm ahead of the game.
i'll have that picture shortly.
Here are the pictures. The top of the shifter disc has some glue left on it from me pulling the Growler disc off that I had installed on it originally, but it looks like it would clean up pretty easily. The Start/Stop button is somewhat worn, but the rest is in remarkably good shape. If you can use it, I'll be more than happy to send it to you. One less thing in my household.
Thanks Ted. That is very generous of you. Although the trim pieces appear to be in good shape I'm going to pass on your offer. My car has the black buttons and I don't want to disassemble and reassemble everything. I'm way too OCD when it comes to my performance cars. When I sold my 2013 in 2015 with 8,000 miles it was better than new. Hard to believe, but the paint was like glass (absolutely no swirls on a black) and the interior never had a speck of dirt let alone a scratch. When I replace items I always go with the absolute best and it makes me feel better unless it is for a car I just drive and don't lust over.
So I have a question close enough to the topic that someone here can probably answer for me...
On my 2010 XKR, the outer most bezel which surrounds the assembly shown by tberg is chromed plastic, while the bezel on my '07 XK is a solid polished aluminum billit.
(I think the '07 had it as an option.)
Was a solid bezel offered on the 2010?
Just curious, because jumping between cars, the cheap plastic is a mental annoyance.
