Friends:
Want to share that I just returned from a grrreat 8 day, 2200 mile road trip from WV, through Michigan, to Sault St. Marie, ON and back. About 700 miles out I developed a ‘hood open’ warning but knew it was a false alarm. This did force me to use the physical key from the fob to lock and unlock the doors, but whatever. Upon return I disconnected the electrical connection to the hood release sensor and sprayed it with contact cleaner, which solved the problem.
Got many positive comments about the car, and got pulled over at the border coming back into the US by a very polite and jovial Border Patrol officer on an early Sunday morning for an ‘inspection’ and presumably, to check out the car. I saw exactly one XK (an X100) the whole trip. Got 26+ MPG at ~5 MPH over the speed limit, whatever it was at the time.
The Mrs and I really enjoyed the ride. The car really shined as the GT that it is.
