Hi forum friends. I'm the proud owner of a 2015 XK Base Coupe. I've had the car about three weeks now. I love it, but just today I've noticed that when the side mirrors fold in, the motor on the driver's side mirror (left side) keeps running for about ten seconds or so after the mirror is completely folded. No problem when they unfold, just when I fold them in. I've gone into the system and set it up so the mirrors stay out when I lock it now, but I'm concerned I may need a new mirror motor. Any ideas or suggestions before I trudge down to the dealership? Thanks.
Could be a sensor, or the driver module, maybe a ground on one of the sensors is flaky - this is the 2009 wiring schematic. According to the manual "A thermal cut-out feature is incorporated to protect the mirror foldback motors. Thermal cutout only occurs with the door mirrors in the unfolded position, and resets after 5 minutes." I'm guessing the cutout is working around 10 seconds.
