Kongo1, I watched the hammer go down, but that was not my car. I am attending the auction Saturday, and will have my 08 XKR convertible there, but not on the block. My car is for sale and available on Car Gurus.

That was an 07 with all of the exact attributes as my car, lunar gray, charcoal interior, convertible. Right down to the mileage was the same. I have to admit, I was considering consigning last year and this, but without reserve it was too risky. Very pleased on how the 07 went at the auction. Congrats to the seller who is also a member of the forum. I'm asking about the same. After buyers fees it still was a good deal for the seller. Remember buyer has to pay an additional 10%, so the buyer actually paid a bit more.

Sorry for the confusion, from your description it sounded just like yours but they did say it was in 07 and I thought they may have got the you're wrong. But it does confirm what I've said and that is that a 4.2 L n a in excellent condition with low mileage will go for between 20 and 25k while a SC in the same condition and mileage we'll go greater than 25 and as high as 30. The buyer just has to be someone who specifically wants a 4.2.

Not a problem Kongo. Just remember that with the buyers fee someone was willing to pay just under $30K in and auction in the northeast. Cars like this tend to appreciate after the 15 year mark. Challenge is keeping miles low. This usually means not driving it too much, which is a shame. I'll be talking cars and letting everyone know that it is available.. and looking for a few cars on my list in the process. I've had my fun with it and it may be time to move on. Easier said than done.

I took the plunge... bought the '13 XK Special Edition.

The last step was taking it to a second professional for a look-over. He drove it, put it on the lift for visual inspection, and did an OBD check. He confirmed my suspicion that the front rotors are warped, but at 41k I expect that's to be expected. Bigger problem was a P0128 OBD code. Dealer agreed to a price reduction of $250 which will partially cover thermostat replacement.

One curious thing was a dangling hose tie-down a can be seen in the photo below. What hose is that? Is the AC condenser down there somewhere? Power steering?
