Oem piece with the vacuum cap put on on the left, ford focus block off plate on the right.

Look closely you will see the difference between the oem piece with the vacuum cap and the aftermarket ford focus block off plate

Oem piece with a vacuum cap on top of the focus block off plate so you can see the size difference

Finding a machine shop that can give me a quick turnaround is proving to be difficult...I need to get a battery for my digital caliper tonight and I will make a sketch and post dimensions for you later this week. For now since I'm not hooking a boost gauge or anything up to that port I'm just going to use the vacuum cap with a hose clamp...car hasn't ran for a couple months so it's getting time to get it fired back up

I don't think you really need that o-ring for a blanking plate. Not if you're willing to use a gasket or sealer of some sort, that is.

O-ring is OK but I'd use a piece of gasket material and cut it to shape . I try not to use gasket sealer unless parts have been warped .

I'm not talking about globs of RTV. Anaerobic sealer is specified for the precision-machined fit of the crankcase covers on my Ducatis. The one I was trying to remember the name of is Loxeal.

I've revisited this since I now have the blower and manifolds off...doing an actual block off plate, possibly with a port for boost gauge.

Does anyone know if JLR made a variant without the symposer, so I could track down a oem block off plate?

My mechanic has just used a Range Rover engine as a donor to fix a '10 XKR and mentioned that the symposer port had a blanking plate on it.

Any chance you could acquire that or at least get a picture of it?

He is planning on fixing the old engine and using it in a jet boat so needs the blanking plate. I will probably be passing by over the weekend so if he is in and I remember I will try and get a photo.

Try to get a part number if you can! And no worries....or hell, tell him to put a symposer on it!

Bite your tongue. The symposer is obnoxious and an affront to the ears. If it were easier to get to the pieces I'd have binned it ages ago, instead of just disabling it.

Hah! I know. It can be done, I did mine...it's a pain but it can be done in place. I'm actually working on a proper block off plate, if I have good results I'll offer a few up for sale to forum members..

Do you still get the Twin Screw (OK, TVS) Whine of the 5.0L Supercharger with this removed? I would miss that if eliminated.

Looks like you have already got it sorted but pics as promised. Rather than a blanking plate, it looks like Range Rovers still have the connector but it is plugged somehow inside so nothing can pass through it.

Got it all sorted now, but that's very interesting and could be an option for anyone looking to blank theirs off, a little research and I'm sure they could come up with a part number for that blank plate, even though I had no luck. Thank you for taking the time to contribute to this!

Q&C, I have pics in another thread, just got done cleaning all of them over the last couple days so I will update with more before/after pics

Dave, I haven't really ever been able to hear any blower whine with my '10 XKR, so I can't say if it'll hurt or help, never really been able to hear it anyway.
