Default Spare set of wheels. TPMS sensors need reprogramming each time

Hey guys so I got a second set off wheels for the track and street driving The track set has the original TPMS sensors in. Now I'm thinking I need to buy a second set for the street wheels set . Do the TPMS sensors need to be programmed in each time I switch the wheels?

No they never require programming Alex. Just drive around for 20 minutes after install and they'll be recognized by the car. The car's just going to recognize them as new each time you swap I suspect. But you have SDD and can certainly program them using it if I'm wrong.

With the volume of business Discount Tire does, I would expect the TPMS sensors they sell to be fresh stock, with batteries that should last at least 7 years. What guarantee do they provide? Their price is not outrageous.

Back before I bought my Jag I bought an Autel TPMS tester/programmer to use on my Lexus. I also bought their programable sensors for $28 ea. When I replaced a bad sensor on the jag I just cloned the jag sensor into the module. Worked great. Just another option and it allows me to test all sensors on the car and it tests my key fob too.
