Default Spires Tuning Exhaust for XKR-S

Hey All-

Just wanted to put this out there in case anyone has been contemplating a different exhaust note for their toy...

I installed the Spires Stage 3 Active Exhaust on my 2012 XKR-S. Love it! A bit louder when not in dynamic mode, but certainly MUCH louder (and meaner) in Dynamic mode. I installed it in less than 90 min. That includes the time to drop the stock and install the Spires. Thanks to Matt at Spires for the hook-up.

Special thanks to Ryan for meeting up with me a couple weeks ago so I could hear it on his XKR. That is what sold me on it!

If I can answer any questions, or if you would like to see more photos, just let me know. Spring is right around the corner here in NE Ohio, so looking to put some miles on it soon!

Mike

How about posting some recordings so we can all hear what it sounds like?

200 Pounds give or take? Took about 3 days for mine and a week for Mike. So much of an improvement i was shocked yesterday just how quiet my XKR-S is with the original Jag Sports Exhaust on it.... SOOooooo QUIET.

If you have an X-pipe there is no need for Stage 3. Stage 1 is a X-Pipe. Stage 2 is a switch out to a better back rear muffler. Stage 3, which I have, is stage 1+2. You already have Stage 1 on the Jaguar Sports Active Exhaust (or whatever its called). So all Mike needed was a stage 2 and he had what I bought...the stage 3. Trust me. Its not LOUD and MEAN unless you get that rear muffler changed out...that thing is a sound and backfire dampening champ... UGH!!

Loth, did you mis-type? I think you meant "there is no need for Stage 1".

As Loth said, about USD 200.00 to get it to Ohio.

My choice was to go with the Stage 2 Non Active- car would have always been loud
or
Stage 3 Active - Where the Dyanamic mode button still opens/closes valves in exhaust.

I opted for the 3 Active...I can still quiet her down, or rattle windows and doors.

I would try a recording, but quite honestly, not sure it would do it justice.

Guys, I would be veeeerrryyy interested in hearing a recording. I am about to take that leap and get stage 2, I already have an X-pipe. I would be far more comfortable if I could hear what it sounds like!

Hi Queen and Country, Yeah, I heard it there but am a little skeptical. Things don't always turn out "as advertised." I'd be more convinced hearing it on another members car.

Weather has really crapped the bed here in NE Ohio this week....car won't be out for a bit but as soon as I am able, I will do a video clip for you guys. I am not so sure it is going to do it justice, but Ill do it.
I don't have a "before" video, but for those of you with the stock XKR-S exhaust, I don't think you need the before...
