It does seem like a lot for labor but not sure if it's too high or not.
The noise in your video is not like anything I have heard on my STR. Not sure what that is?
Yes you can remove the SC belt completely and drive all you want. No problems and no check engine lights. But Lord does it make for one slow STR!!
I lost a SC idler pulley (Bearing locked up I guess?) and then shredded the SC belt after it got wrapped around something under the hood while driving. Took a week or so for me to get the parts to repair it. Takes a lot of force to tear that belt in two!

Got the car back. Of course the dealer claims the noise is completely normal. I didn't press them on the issue, because if they don't know what they're doing or they don't want to fix it, why would I pay them money to force them to?
I guess my next option is to find an indie shop who can correctly fix the issue!
