I’d believe Cee Jay on it. Never seen warped rotors before, but see lots of Dodge Caravan rust buckets on the road, so gotta believe they’re not using highest quality materials in their products.

"Warped" does not mean Deformed By Heat exclusively. Warped means Deformed. A 2x4 piece of lumber can be warped, and that does not occur by heat.
Any rotor that is deformed from original, by any means, is Warped. I don't care how it happened.

Respectfully, wood warps from permeability and water. To warp a cast iron rotor without heat would require a multi-ton hydraulic press…and likely it would crack, not bend, without heat.

Umm, did you even watch that video? It’s 15 minutes of a machine resurfacing a rotor which from what I could see in the time lapse bit spun perfectly true without and wobble (watch the vanes, if the rotor was warped, it would be hopping like a bent rim).

Uneven surface wear requiring resurfacing and warping are completely different things.

So going back to your semantics comment, if what you meant by warping was uneven surface wear then you didn’t mean to say you saw warped rotors, you saw uneven surface wear.

Warped is a condition, not a verb.

Evidently your brain is warped, since you can't understand that if a surface has deviated from a norm, regardless of the cause..... IT IS WARPED.
And oh gee, a mere (does calculations in his head, then just says a number anyway) 10/1,000ths (1/100) of an inch isn't "warped" because it isn't ENOUGH warped???

*sigh*
I guess some people cannot accept what words mean.

Or maybe, if something actually IS a thing, you refuse to accept it AS that thing because it doesn't meet your own personal narrowed definition OF a thing.
Cool.
It must be nice to be the High-All-Mighty-Decider of Things.

Why are we still discussing warped rotors when OP advises the shake was due to a buckled front wheel??

Some of you are like a dog with a bone...lol

Absolutely, If he has the Alcon brakes then there are "crescents" machined into the rotor faces that are specifically designed to re-face the pads each time you brake which increases their effectiveness by increasing the "bite" and prevent brake fade. The Alcon rotors are huge and dissipate heat very quickly. I have the same on my 09 Portfolio. I would seriously steer clear of having them refaced or "skimmed" as this would affect the efficiency of the rotor design. Try some hard braking (on a clear road) and I am sure the problem will disappear.

Good luck,

Andy

If you need new Alcon rotors, see this old thread:
