Just an update here on my prototypes. After a thousand miles the front lower rockers are untouched with road debris. These were cut out of an off the shelf flat stoneguard / mud flap from Autozone. They are held on by spring type clip so I can remove them when I want. They extend about 3/4" below the rocker panel. Last week I got caught and had to drive over a road that was just "oil and stoned" and the rockers stayed clean. I wasn't looking for something that would hang down 3-4" but just something to protect the front. You don't notice them unless you are looking for them. So far it works for me.
