sucking air?

Hi all, wonder if anyone has experienced this, or can offer any advise. I revved my 2007 XKR standing in neutral, hood open, just curios to see if all was well in the engine bay. The engine revs fine, but there is a sucking noise for a split fraction of a second, before the revs climb, almost as if the engine needed to suck an extra gulp of air before starting to climb in the vroom department. As said, it only lasts a fraction of a second. Is this normal?
