Supercharger Maintenance

There's no cooling system for the SC - there's air-water intercoolers beside it, but they're part of the main cooling system (separate but connected).
There is lubrication for the SC; I think it's "sealed for life" according to Jaguar, but one of the Eaton resellers says (about the TVS 1900 unit used in the 5.0) "Only requires an oil change every 80,000-120,000 miles". It's a bit like the gearbox: it officially needs no attention, but the component manufacturer says it will benefit from servicing at higher mileages. There's a filler plug in the TVS rear bearing plate - the 4.2 manual doesn't talk about a filler in the M112 SC, it just says "The supercharger has a sealed-for-life internal lubrication system". I've seen people talking about changing the M112 oil online, so it must be do-able.

Oil change on the M112 is possible, lots of threads in the XJ sections about it.
There's a filler plug on the front of the housing.
In fact in the early days there was a scheduled oil change in the Jaguar documents.
Many of us have changed the oil in the SC. You need a syringe to suck out the old oil, there are kits on eBay for this from Powerhouse in the UK.
