Tacky or Tasteful Leaper
I just thought I'd put this little guy on my gas cover. I seen a little black prancing horse on a red LaFerrari's gas cover and thought it looked good, but anything would look good on a LaFerrari. My car is complemented with polished aluminum so the chrome leaper matches my trim accent. What do you think? The little guy is only 1.25 inches long.
Sorry for the sideways pictures. It's the way they got uploaded.

Not needed....too small. Don't like the look. Looks out of place. Car is beautiful without it.

Anything that makes your car subtly different is a plus in my book. We are not in the golden age of car design. Most new cars look about the same, only separated by degrees of ugliness. What styling there is looks pretty forced.
I suppose we should blame ourselves for letting ourselves get buried in rules, especially in the USA where they get passed by unelected bureaucrats.
There are only so many solutions to the regulatory puzzle and as a consequence the cars all look about the same.
Sticking a little leaper on there at least makes your car slightly different. That is a plus.

Prices are very reasonable, $1.99 for small (3cm x 1.5cm) and $2.99 for medium (6cm x 3cm ) plus shipping. The small fits perfectly on both the 5.0L rotary shift knob and the 4.2L shift lever, if you cut the leaper off with the paper backing. You remove the paper backing to stick it on, then remove the clear film on top and you're done. Very easy.

Although the consensus is overwhelmingly against the little leaper on the gas cover, I like it for now. It's put on with double sided tape and can easily be removed.

Anyone have info on the leaper that is on the trunklid of the latest xk? My wife saw one with it on and wondered why mine doesn't have it. I explained to her that 2010s didn't but I sort of like it. She really wants me to get the old style leaper for the hood, but I told her that although I really liked it on say a 2008 SuperV8, it just didn't seem right for the XKR.

I got one from ebay. They come in a pair for about $20. I stuck it on the back of the car, looks great though I had to fluff around figuring out the angle of the leap a bit and which direction it should be (leaping toward the left from memory).
Back to DGL, on the 2012 and after XFs they had a little leaper integrated into the side of the tail lights. I'm not sure whether that happened with the XKs, but if you get tired of it on the filler flap you could try it there.
