Default Tampa FL -Looking for PPI on 2011 XKR

Hey Guys... I'm looking to purchase a 2011 XKR, private seller just north of Tampa; and want to have someone who knows these cars give me an opinion on mechanicals and cosmetics.

I'm a ten year forum member on the X100 site, looking to step up to the X150. I've been in correspondence with the seller who has been very easy to deal with, and so far the car ticks off all the right boxes.

I'm in Daytona Beach and its a good 3.5 hour trip to check out the car. So I'm looking for either a knowledgeable forum member to give it a once over and test run, and/or any recommendations to source a PPI. I am happy to compensate anyone here for their time and trouble.

Thanks in Advance, Gordo

Sorry, I wouldn't be available, not sure how much I could tell you beyond what pictures would reveal. For a PPI I have only one experience, the Tampa Jag dealer which is located on the North side of town. They are a good group from my past dealings.

If it was me I would schedule the PPI and have the seller meet you at the provider 30 minutes before my time, that way you can evaluate the car yourself and avoid the cost if there is an obvious disqualifier. If all goes well on your initial visual inspection, execute the PPI, discuss, negotiate, and then consummate the purchase.

I might be able to help depending on scheduling but I would highly recommend starting with obtaining service records/vehicle history, what your expectations are of the car and the inspection. I do much of the service to my own vehicles and have owned a number of Jaguars, including the current XKR. I also have experience buying and selling cars wholesale. I can certainly inspect the body, interior, drivability and some of the mechanicals and know trouble areas. I also have good relationships with dealers in Pinellas and Orlando.

Purchased the car. Waiting for seller to pay off loan before title transaction. Details in about a week or so. Happy.

Congratulations! I made eyes at that vehicle but ended up purchasing one a couple weeks ago from the Jag dealer in Dallas and driving it back to Florida. Same color combo, 2011 lunar grey with ivory/oyster, but with the kalimnos wheels.

Congrats on the sale. Living in Florida, I didn't want black which eliminated about a third of the inventory. I've been looking six months, so I'm sure we had our eyes on the same car more than once. There's another lunar grey 2011 at the Jag dealer on Merritt Island, but my impression it had been kept too close to the beach and we all know how much fun salt air can be w/ a new car. Hope to line 'em up in row someday at a meet up or whatever. Gordo

I've already got two black BMW'sport wagons. I keep them claybar'd and carnuba'd so the water spots aren't too bad; but they're like ovens if I leave them outside during the summer. The older wagon has already baked off its headliner adhesive and the interior looks like a closed casket coffin... not that I'd know what that looks like from first hand experience. :-)
