Looks awesome good luck with the deal. Funny how a car can look so vaguely similar to the XK, yet still be so dramatically different (much better IMO, which is saying something).

I'm guessing you'll wind up being pretty happy Carmax banged up that XKRS pretty soon haha...

I think he was way harder on the Aston and much funnier. The prize fight video is just lame though.

So rscultho did you get the DBS yet?

I also found that XKR-S review very entertaining. I was not aware until now that the 5.0L cars had the same exact infotainment interface as my '07. It was bad in 2007--if I was buying one of those in 2014, I would've been extremely disappointed!!!

Then again I never use my nav anyway.

I haven't had any issue with mine...but then again I hardly ever use it. I imagine they have done some firmware updates to improve the system over the years but who knows. Mine seems responsive enough for me.

Did he say there was no HD radio? If so, he's definitely wrong about that.

I haven't had any real issues with my system either. However, the design of it is awful. The screen is ugly and low-resolution with wasted space, wasted animation times that make it laggy! My biggest gripe is that there is no way to flip through your radio presets with the steering wheel buttons. And then instead of displaying the FM frequency is shows the name of a song or artist instead, which is absolutely pointless.

I would've preferred not having a nav system at all and just having old school dials, knobs and such.

So I got the car. Just working out insurance which I think will cost me an extra $200 a month...I am working on that with my Nationwide agent. It's sort of complicated.

I do not have all the figures, but I think they finally settled on a selling price of $112K. There is TAVT, doc fee, and tag.

I have business that will not allow me to go sign paperwork and pick up the car till Thursday.I think they are wanting a down payment now to hold the car. If they require it to not sell between now and Thursday I will give 'em $500 or so. It will be a part of my down payment...I will insist on that.

Man - I have been on the phone by voice, text, email, and in endless mtgs. I feel like I have played a game of football (American...)

I tend to stick to one station in my car but have you tried doing number two in the attached?

Have you tried turning FM Text off in the Audio Options menu?

#2 doesn't switch presets, it goes to the next "strong" radio station.

I'm not sure my US spec XKR has that option for turning off FM Text. But I will look for it. I guess I haven't really tried to get rid of it, now that I think about it. However, with my old X350 (same issue), you had to go into the dealer to get them to reprogram it not to display text.

Wow! That's fantastic. Congratulations!!! I am very jealous. My dream is an XKR with a manual transmission. An Aston Martin with a stick is even more sweet!

Congrats! I'm heading to The Great British Car Fayre in Alpharetta on Saturday, March 29. Let me know if you're planning on heading up there. I'll bring my XKR-S and you bring the AM! Here's the details...

Well now I have to pay for it!

Interesting question. I am a passionate person about certain things. So, to be honest:
The price was right...
It doesn't hurt that I am a pretty big JB fan...
The car is "bite the back of your hand beautiful" (to borrow a phrase from Jeremy on TG)
I can afford it...I can't afford a new Vanquish (yet)
I ran it by my local, trusted high end mechanic...discussed the early replacement of the clutch, and other things
The car has 2 months left of an Aston Martin factory extended warranty
It is in excellent condition, inside and out..I intend to have it checked out mechanically by my own mechanic...I have two months to discover anything that can be replaced under the extended factory warranty

Power...
Beauty...
Soul...

Andmany other things!! I did not test fit my Walther PPK in the center console, so hopefully it will fit. (I am not joking...)
