Well....used my XKR Mod Money for this year on a 2006 Mercedes Benz SL65 AMG Hardtop Convertible. It has a V12 Twin Turbo with 604 horsepower and 738 lb feet of torque in stock form. It's a 2006 with only 1,200 miles in Pewter. I can tell it's faster than the XKR but with 180 more Horsies....it should be faster. Modding the XKR will have to wait til next year.
Here's some quick pics as it's off and on rain here in Chitown. I'll take more pics outside tomorrow.

CONGRATS!!! very nice! impressed me once again lol, is that the pewter color on the SL? had you been looking for one for a while or just decided to do it randomly? ive heard the power of the 65 over does the chassis capabilities. i toy with the idea of a 500 sport or 55 from time to time but really like the extra little bit of kit the 65 has on it.

Thanks! It is Pewter....I prefer Black or White on the SLs but the 65s aren't many here for sale so I went for it especially when it only had 1,200 miles. I haven't pushed it yet as it's still in break in and I just bought it yesterday but it's probably true as traction will be an issue from what I've read. The SL600 has the same times as the SL65s eventhough the SL65 has 111 more horsepower. I think the the one that overwhelms the chassis is the Brabus SL65 with 730HP and detuned torque from 1,000 to 811 lb ft of torque. You should get one! The redesigned 2009 SLs are out also but didn't want to shell out $193K+ for a new one.
