It’s interesting to note that most of the F-Type forum mentions that the F-Type is a GT car. Most people say in that forum say it handles very well for such a heavy “GT” car.

Well this has gone on long enough, it is time to belly up to the bar. Just buy the newest XKR Convertible that fits your budget.

Had my sister's f type for a week just after she purchased it

If not for little ones I'd either be in the vantage or f type.

The 8spd in the f type is fantastic for keeping it always in the sweet spot and power is ample .

Going off the pics it goes to show how well the xk has aged it still looks magnificent even when next to a brand new Jag.

What are "waning years"? That must be a typo and I think you meant to say "wanting years". Age is timeless and a state of mind. Think of it as mind over matter. If she doesn't mind, it doesn't matter. You're only as old as she feels! The road of life is short, so think young and enjoy the ride!

Waning years is the red zone of life. I don't feel to old yet but as my golf drives get shorter so does life. So the avg. is around 78 but my father made it to 94 but the last 10 were not a good quality of life . Mother made it to 90 and only had a year of decline. So life is short but I'll enjoy as long as I can.

Just looked at a Vantage, and unfortunately for me, there was a Vanquish parked next to it. If you're going to leap, you may as well lose all contact with Terra Firma. A Vantage is less than the effort.

Damn good question, and one I'd be hard pressed to answer. Visual aesthetics maybe?

Close. When I had my 2004 XKR, I thought Chrysler Sebring whenever I glanced at it.

Exactly! I owned my XK8 when I went to the dog park in my truck with dogs. There was a guy there in a Sebring Convertible same color as my XK8, and I had to take a double-take when I pulled up.

I love the carnival red the paint and darker saddle top my 00 XKR has, but like 90% of the crap box Sebrings I see are a very close color match. Little better on the looks, details and performance but still lol.
