Thoughts on the Adamesh Wind Deflector?

I did a nice 100+ mile drive with the top down yesterday, and despite it being barely above 60 degrees, I had a grin plastered on my face from ear to ear. Even at 75, the buffeting wasn't too bad, but it got me to wondering how much better it would get with a wind deflector. I know there have been a number of threads on this, and I'm curious specifically about the Adamesh one here: jaguar convertible wind deflector | jaguar x150 wind blocker
Has anyone whose had it for any length of time got any comments on the longevity/durability of it?
Does anyone with a Caramel Interior have any comment on how well the Beige version matches? (If it's not close enough, I'd simply rather go with black I think.)
But the 300 bucks for Adamesh vs the 700 or so for the official Jag one is a little tough to stomach.
Of course, I'll also entertain arguments that any of the wind screens aren't worth it and I just shouldn't bother.
Thanks all!

I have the Adamesh wind deflector in black with contrasting beige stitching that looks great with my ivory/slate interior. It is well made and installs very easily without any tools or body mods, although I made a slight modification to the deflector to improve the fit - more about that later. It does not have to be folded down when raising or lowering the convertible top, but you may do so if you wish to improve visibility out of the rear window. How well does it block the wind? That depends on your speed and if you have the windows up or down. It does a fair job of blocking wind with the windows down, and a better job with the windows up. It would work even better if the rear windows could be raised, but they can't (unless you put the top up).
This photo is from Mina Gallery's website, and I modified it to clarify my explanation:

Yellow B location is where the spring-loaded fastener fits into the side of the rear seat panel (both sides). Red location A is where the post fits into the existing slot behind the rear seat (both sides). You can barely see the black post against the ivory seatback. I found that those posts were a little too short, since when raising or lowering the deflector the entire unit would fall out of those slots and into the rear seat. Simple fix: I took some 1/4" clear plastic tubing that I had laying around and cut two 4" long pieces that I pushed over the posts, thereby making them about 3" longer. The tubing is barely noticeable and the deflector stays put when I raise and lower it.
I'll post pictures of how it looks in my car tomorrow. Hope this helps.

I got the Adamesh wind deflector a few weeks ago and am extremely happy with the results. I can now drive at 65 with top down and windows up and feel very little breeze or up to around 40 with windows down and feel very little breeze. I got the beige color for my black/caramel 2008 XK and I think the color matches very nicely. One minute to install and it fits tightly so far.

Hi to all,
I am considering buying a wind deflector. I have prices for both the OEM version and the Adamesh units.
I contacted Adamesh and they advised me that the Beige unit will not match my Black 2007 Jag XK with Carmel interior. They said they sell mostly the black ones. I have seen some photos on line that show the beige model matching the Jags carmel interior.
If I may, I could use an option from other XK owners as to which color they choose: Black, Stainless or beige.
I know the OEM unit is expensive but the $$ is not a big deal.
Looking for quality and guarantee.
I would appreciate any information as I am having a difficult time with this fairly simple decesion.
I have a 1998 Black XJ8 and the recently aquired 2007 XK
Thanks again for your help.
Fred

I just used mine with the top down for the first time today. It works very nicely and the beige piping melds very well with my caramel interior. Body color - Midnight (metallic)Black. The black mesh does impact rear visibility but not to the extent that you can't identify a vehicle behind you. When backing up I use the camera and outside rear view mirrors.

I have a 2008 black/caramel XK Conv and I got the Beige Adamesh wind deflector about a year and a half ago. I think it works great and looks great. My wife would almost never ride in the car with the top down until I got it. Now she only complains about the hot sun and not the wind. In my opinion the beige is is a very close color match. I don't think you will regret getting it.

One point to be aware of, if you're tall enough, and normally have the seats far back, your headrest will push against the windscreen when its up.
I've had to set up a 2nd memory setting for my seat that's forward a few inches and more upright in order to clear the screen when its up. Its somewhat annoying as it cuts down on legroom.
I do find the screen works very well, allows me to drive topless in colder weather than without the screen. I can put the seat all the way back when I push the screen back down.
This is from experience with the Adamesh unit, but I'm presuming the OEM version would have the same issue.

Hi again to all.
I received the Adamesh Beige & Black deflector plus the case this PM. Great service. I ordered it on Monday afternoon and received it on Wed. PM. It is very well made and is a very very close match to the Carmel interior. Went in in 5". Very easy. It can also be up when the top is up and I can see through it very easily. Great product. Thanks again to all..
