It sounds like you are suffering from the right foot syndrome. I had this problem in my youth with my 63 Corvette which was only 340HP. So with anything in the 400-500HP range it tends to wear out the rear tires. Then again what's the fun if you can't relive your youth. Enjoy the ride.

^lol, Truth!
I'm certain there are tires that can get you over the 20K mark. but sadly they will never fall in the "Performance Tire" category.
I will agree that the Michelin A/S were a terrible tire, as my XK came with them. I was quick to get them off the car.

Some would not consider this tire to be UHP but considering handling, comfort, quietness, wear and price I find it to be an excellent tire for me.
Best regards,

A good set of tires appropriate for this car are not going to last long at all. The rubber soft enough to grip properly is just that - soft. The A/S is already a compromised tire and you got a good amount of life out of it. The A/S is good for winter / all year; since a PS2 is going to have a hard time hooking in the cold.

Next year we are planning to leave some of the winter cold and snow of New England and head for FL for a couple of months. Current plans are to spend Jan and Feb in the Ft Meyers area.
We'd like to take the XKR which currently has 20" Dunlop high performance summer tires (The car is stored between Nov and Apr).
We were thinking of installing high performance All Season tires since we would be driving in colder weather (still trying to avoid any snow). Has anyone had any experience to going to All Season tires year?

Knowing that I am in the minority, are there tires any forum members can suggest for a quite ride. I have the 19" wheels and the current tires are Nitto NT555 245x45 (F) and 275x40 (R). These tires result in a constant hum especially on less than perfect pavement. I tend to drive fairly conservatively and super traction is probably wasted on me. Thanks
Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110
Front: 255/35ZR20.........$162.00 each for total of $324.00
Rear: 285/30ZR20.........$215.00 each for total of $430.00
While many owners of the Jaguar brand may be purchasing expensive brands such as Pirelli, Dunlap, Michelin, I see no need or reason to spend high dollars for these brand of tires.
My decision on the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 was based on years of racing experience with the Hankook brand. I strongly suggest that anyone who might think these tires are sub standard or cheap, to complete their due dilgence on the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110. These are rated maxium high performance tires and can be considered a "sleeper" brand for performance and overall quality. Many wouldn't even think to consider the name Hankook.
Available at Discount Tire in AZ.
Hope this helps.

Totally awesome. This might shed some new light on those who doubt this tire.

Slightly off the topic for one sec........I am planning on bringing my car to Jaguar tomorrow and was considering to get an alignment due to my front tires feathering on the insides after 5,000 miles. The car steers and tracks straight as an arrow. Do you guys feel this might be a waste considering rear tires don't get much more than 10,000 miles anyway, and when I replace them in the next 5,000+ miles I should get the alignment when all the tires are new? What do you think?

Continental Extreme Contact DW (Max. Performance) have no tire wear warranty. Or didn't a year ago. Continental Extreme Contact DWS (UHP) have a 50,000 mile warranty, or did a year ago. I rarely drive above 100MPH and have little interest in getting from 0-60 quickly, as my destinations are not that urgent. I switched. The DW wears quickly, and in my experience is noisy in relatively short time. The DWS, now at about 15,000 miles, makes little noise on well paved asphalt @ 70MPH. On concrete Interstates, it's luba-luba-luba-luba. Suggest you research your sizes on Tire Rack's customer ratings and Tire Rack's comparison articles. Then purchase via your choice. The rear tires on any XK/XKR may require ordering for a local dealer. If you're really demanding on your tires, look into Michelin Super Sport, or whatever their nomenclature.
