Touch screen jumping & rolling
#22
I'm in coastal N.C with closest dealer being 3 hours away in S.C .Had dealer run diagnostics for about $165 gave two steps to rectify -Re-program Screen if that doesn't work replace screen for a total cost of $5,000. Next trip was to N.J. spent $165 for Diagnostics and was correctly told it was the Bluetooth Module $1,400 to replace. Bought a used one on E-bay for $145 removed the battery cover the 4 screws and 3 plugs on module and replaced with E-Bay purchase 6W83-10D893-AG .It's located just under the Nav CD holder to the right of the battery. Problem fixed.
Hope this info. helps

Touch Screen Only flashing Jaguar logo
Thanks for posting about this fix - a couple questions: Can you explain the issue you were having on the touch screen display? Was it scrambled like the photo I posted above, or did it just stop displaying anything at all (go black), logo appeared only etc.? As far as reprogramming the touch screen display, did they say this was something that could be done via the entertainment system interface, or does it require some kind of device to be hooked up (i.e. has to be done in a shop/with special tools)? Did they provide a diagnostic code that indicated the Bluetooth system failure? What year is your XK? Thanks!
Good luck

UPDATE on my haywire TSD: I bought an optical loopback and looped out every module in the trunk next to the battery to see if was the Bluetooth module or Nav or something else, and no luck, still haywire - I even pulled the center dash module and made sure all the wires in the back were connected OK (getting the wood trim off was nerve-wracking!). I guess I conclude the issue is the TSD itself.
Question: see photo below - while I was in the trunk looping out the modules, I noticed a loose connector that wasn't plugged in to anything, which doesn't seem right - anyone know if/where this should be connected? Maybe you can take a look in your trunk and send a photo of where it ought to be plugged up? Thanks for any help on this.

Reporting back on this thread - I was able to acquire a whole new TSD and am ecstatic to declare it is working perfectly. The troubleshooting was a good learning experience, but turns out it was just the damn screen unit itself. No more static, squiggling and blank screens. Thanks to all on the thread who gave advice - the TSB that shows how to get the middle console unit out of the dash was especially clutch.
