Touring a bit of Europe, 2021

Left Italy, entered Austria and the mountains. And yes Corona inspection is done on south borders. We all were pulled of the highway, the guy's question for me was: " going to Denmark?" "Yes" And he waved me through.
So mountains, motorways, tunnels, epic views. Not like home at all. Stopped for lunch, had to fill out card with details, apparently to trace me down if I had been near a Corona person.

Had planned to show a video here, but apparently not allowed?Time to enter Germany near Salzburg. And yes, all cars were looked at. Fortunately I chose the best lane, far right, flowed right through while the 3 left lanes became 1 = stau. When my fast lane got to the customs/health guys, they were busy with a Dutch Alfa Romeo with two dodgy looking guys and the back seat stuffed with luggage. I would have stopped them, Dutch going from Austria to Germany at this Eastern point? And more luggage than two sister on a wedding cruise? And yes, they looked more dodgy than I do, believe it if you can.
So I was let through. Unfortunately it was now Friday afternoon so spent eons in queues around Munich. Bad timing, but for me: unavoidable
North of Nürnberg I pulled off the Autobahn. I usually try to find something nice for the night, found Schlosshotel on GPS, but it was gated and weeds all over. Next place like it. So now I'm at an extremely boring industrial neighborhood hotel, depressing. But they have wienerschnitzel and Bier vom Fass, so OK...
For those who think far too many words and far too few pictures, here are a few from last year, not shown on this forum

Last day. I now got around to replacing batteries in both remotes, and the Low battery annoyance has gone away :-)
Today it was all Autobahn. Nürnberg to Puttgarden. Got up early, not by design, just woke up at 4am, and took off. Dark, clouded, almost fog. Hhmm, not good. And some traffic, not the empty roads I had anticipated.
But soon the fog lifted, and the sunrise and beautiful landscape was there to see. Also, not much traffic, perfect 3 lane roads, big radius curves and elevation changes. I couldn't have designed it better myself. And btw free speed.

So I went fast. Max 210, not trying to test top speed (why bother, it's electronically controlled?). I have tried top speed in CTS-V, it hit rev limiter at 303 km/h. Though very stable car, a bit scary.
Here I went a nice 150-190 driving. Just using the car and the road for what they were built for, in the only part of the world where the nannies haven't won (yet).
Epic, that 30-40 minutes. Well worth the Stau's yesterday. No time to take picture, sorry.
Significantly less traffic/Stau on the Eastern leg, bypassing Hannover and Hamburg, so made good time. Pretty good average speed since I left home more than a week ago...
Average speed 62 mph
