Very nice. Didn't realize dropping the rear sub frame was that easy!

Thanks for making and sharing the Video. Wish I could understand the audio. Lots of maintenance going on. How much of the transmission fluid did you recover by blowing compressed air in through the intake pump? I never thought of doing my transmission fluid change this way. How's it working now?

Is that what he was doing? I thought they were running the engine and flushing clean fluid through. I did have the audio off.

Don't know. Maybe Paulo will let us know when he chimes in. I had the translation caption on and still could not tell for sure; however, with the English caption on I think he mught be flushing it. Would like to know how it worked out for him after a good test run.

Yes your are wright. They are doing transmission maintenance (fluids; transmission plastic panel, sealants, etc, full maintenance kit). They are specialists on transmissions . They aren't Jaguar specialists, are multi brand but with a good quality price relationship and a huge number of clients recommending their jobs. Old fashion mechanics doing money of course, but with passion with cars...very useful for detailed maintenance. For me was impossible doing this on official jaguar shop.

I just decided doing transmission maintenance because I've notice some fluid outside (on plastic cover..nothing special but some leak).. I never noticed problems on transmission. That maintenance was a "proactive" task, preventing future problems. .. Main concerns was instability driving car and some corrosion (rust mainly). They changed many parts (upper and lower arms, and cleaned and painted some components)...Now i can drive my car normally without fear loosing control (i've just one noise on front arms, changing direction to the right..must check that on next stop on shop.

Note: they flush old oil using a special tool (like a bomb), when old fluid it's very damaged/contaminated). Or just leaving fluid flowing freely, when old fluid was in good state....i don't know details, but they do many (but many) transmissions maintenances without client complaints. Normally they Pump old oil (totally) and after that they insert some new olil just to clean transmission (leaving all open and fluid flowing freely..just to clean)..After that they finish job filling with definitive fluid..Transmission work very fine..zero problems

Did they replace the electrical connector sleeve in the transmission? Leaks very commonly occur from there and it can only be replaced while the pan is off.

they didn't, I'll record that note and on next stop on shop i'll check. They aren't jaguar specialists so probably they don't have that kind of historic record. I hope all be fine now and leaks (small leaks in fact) stopped...Transmission maintenance ins't cheap, so i hope solved that problem. In fact i done that maintenance because car has 68k, two owners before and was stopped several years. So i need/want do some repairs...this kind of cars are reare on my country, and importing them it's a painful and very expensive (high importing taxes, ambiental taxes, etc etc). So it's easier buying inside, but as that model it's very rare here, we can't choose with all detail..Car was a low mileage, very preserved inside and needing some paint jobs outside (some stone dots; scratches) and some detailing in order to give shinning to this beautiful car...Of course i already spent some extra money on mechanical stuff out my budget and plans (control arms; new fluids; transmission). Let's see if was enough and all the rest goes well ..
