Maybe a pint of two of Guinness will solve that feeling of being "depressed".

How many liters of new Brake Fluid are required to complete a full brake flush and replacement?

Thanks in advance.

Rich - if done right only one litre is needed... I used the ATE 706402 Original SL.6 DOT 4 Brake Fluid - 1 Liter... and 2-4 pints of Smithwicks is recommended soon after

How much if it's done wrong? 1/2 liter or 2 liters?

I'll show myself out....

Thanks, Leeper. I looked in the owners manual and there is no indication of "capacity" for the brake fluid only the Dot 4.

I bought 2 liters just in case I run short. Bought the Pentosin 1204116 Super Dot 4 Brake Fluid, 1 Liter by Pentosin via Amazon. Solid 5 star rated.

Gets done, Tuesday.

FYI:

Local Jaguar dealership wanted $159.95 for the flush and fluids. Says it takes 1 1/2 hours to complete.

Having our British Car Club's master mechanic complete mine tomorrow. I was hoping to get it done last month, but he got too busy restoring his 1962 Peerless.

I had my brake fluid flushed last year and I believe I paid around 100 bucks at my local Jag dealership.

What does Jaguar use for brake fluid? If it's Castrol, they make a very expensive race brake fluid that is very well regarded.

I used Red Line the last time in the Lotus.

I am not sure what the Jaguar dealer will use for the flush.

I am using Pentosin Dot 4 Super which runs about $13.00 per liter.

The 2009 Jaguar XKR uses the Dot 4 Super brake fluid, which is different than plain Dot 4.

They use whatever product meets the Jag spec as per the owner's manual. Nothing special. Brake fluid is not rocket surgery.
