Tyre changing methods

If your like me your always watching your wheels in case the rims get damaged. This also applies when getting new tyres on. Have seen some shops who are a bit rough and ready doing the job. Bars slipping and damage, scraps and such like. Worse thing is bad tyre changing equipment and bad machines, some of which clamp the rim. I always use the same tyre shop and same guy does the fitting, he takes his time and fits the tyre from the back if the rim so no damage to the face. Just watching a few vids on some tyre shops and have to say this is the best machine i have seen and the smoothness of fitting is great to watch, even the way it lets the tyre down to the ground. I do like the way the rim is held by the centre and the ease of tyre fitting. Best machine yet. No need for clamps or bars. Has anyone had a bad fitting experience.

I was concerned when I had to get the rears replaced a few months ago. I went to my previous tire shop and after watching their machines and tech's I had to look for another place. I found a major fairly new shop which had very new equipment and discussed it with the sales rep. As usually they gave me the sales pitch that they were careful and did a professional job. Also told me the equipment was equipped with plastic protection to prevent tire damage. I was also concern about the TPMS not being damaged. Net was I was comfortable and had him get me 2 Conti's from their warehouse. I bought the wheels in and watched as the old tires were dismounted and the new ones mounted. They did as he said and it was a great job . I now go there for all of my tires.
